Learning outcomes: • know the basic information about Markov type of discrete-continuous stochastic system; • know the traditional technology of model development for the researched object which is presented in the form of discrete-continuous Markov type stochastic system (to be aware of the problems that accompany its practical use); • know an advanced technology of model development for researched object which is presented in the form of discrete-continuous stochastic systems (concept, formation of verbal model, method of structure-automatic models development); • be able to determine the compliance of the researched (designed) object behavior which is presented in the form of discrete-continuous stochastic system; • be able to develop the structural-automatic model of the researched (designed) object; • know how to use the problem-oriented software tool ASNA-1; • know how to use the methodology of lattice structures analysis to form strategies for emergency network recovery; • be able to use the technique of structure optimization, based on the criterion of minimum cost under the given bandwidth and reliability constraints; • be able to choose the performance metrics for the tasks of system-technical designing of telecommunications networks and its systems and to create (compose) formulas for its determination.

Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control: reports on laboratory work, oral discussion, check work (30%); • Summary control: control examination in written-oral form (70%).
