Завдання: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student should be able to demonstrate the following professional competences:
- to learn the methods of information transmission by the method of packet communication through fiber optic cables; - to study the types of modern fiber optic cables, their advantages and disadvantages; - to study the existing types of telecommunication equipment for NGN technology of the world's leading companies.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the study, learners are expected to be able to:
learn the methods of transmitting information through optical fibers; -examine types of modern fiber-optic cables, their advantages and disadvantages; -examine existing types of telecommunication equipment of leading world companies; -examine building fiber optic systems and their application; -examine use test and measurement equipment.Learn how to design fiber-optic information transmission systems.
Required prior and related subjects: Before studying this thematic module the student should learn some other sections of content modules: -with fundamentals of materials science and materials of electronic devices; -with electronics bases; -with the basics of computer technology and digital information transfer.

100-88 points - excellent;
87-71 points - good;
