Abstract: Redko F.F., Glinenko L.K. (supervisor). Development of the «Serialization» database for decision-making support in validation and distribution of drugs. Master’s thesis. - Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2020. Extended annotation. From ancient times to the present days, medicines have been one of the crucial means of salvation for mankind. Billions have already been saved and even more will be saved in the future with medicines. Today, the pharmaceutical industry is one of the most financially stable and prosperous industries, ranking third in terms of profitability after the guns and drugs trade. Due to this fact pharmaceutical market attracts a large amount of counterfeiters. Falsification and counterfeiting of medicines is one of the biggest problems for the pharmaceutical industry. It is caused by the fact that improper manufacturing of medicines can be fatal. One of the new and quite effective ways to overcome this problem is serialization of pharmaceutical products [1]. To support this solution it is necessary to provide the software, or rather a centralized system, that can become a repository of data generated during the serialization process. Qualification work is dedicated to the development of the "Serialization" database for decision-making support in validation and distribution of drugs. The object of research in this work is represented by databases of modern computer systems used to store information generated during the serialization process and information necessary for its passage, and the subject of research – serialization databases of pharmaceutical products. The purpose of this work is to develop the "Serialization" database for decision-making support in validation and distribution of drugs. At present, there are no companies in Ukraine that specialize in software created for serialization. This is due to the fact that the implementation of "Serialization" in Ukraine is currently in the testing phase. The database created in this qualification work is unique and has almost no similar analogues in Ukraine. The advantages of this type of database include the centralization of data and the ability to process large amounts of data [2,3], which make it possible to reduce the complexity of information processing and facilitate the download of new one. Also, one of the advantages is that with such system, finding and providing of the information needed by each type of consumer will be much easier. This database was created using MS Access application. This software created by Microsoft and is widely used by many large companies due to the ability of satisfying all demands when working with databases. This system provides the ability to implement regulated and unregulated queries [4], which allows simplifying the search and retrieval of information from the system. Also, this DBMS allows to provide integrity and data protection. The main result of the work is a functioning «Serialization» database for decision-making support in validation and distribution of drugs. Keywords – database, datalogical model, infological model, logical model, table, attribute, relational database, serialization, aggregation, serial numbers. References. 1.
