Abstract: Shekh V.V., Gumnytsky Ya.M. (scientific supervisor). Assessment of the impact of gas stations on the environment. Master thesis. - National University of Lviv Polytechnic, Lviv 2020. Annotation When developing the environmental impact assessment, a list of informative and reference literature is used, namely the land cadastre, the Law of Ukraine on Environmental Impact Assessment, directories of background concentrations in the selected region, safety rules, equipment documentation from the manufacturer, etc. The entity, the future polluter, is obliged to carry out an environmental impact assessment. According to the Law, environmental impact assessment is necessary when deciding on "planned activities", namely: construction, reconstruction, technical re-equipment, expansion, redevelopment, liquidation (dismantling) of facilities, other interference in the environment. The need for the facility to pass the environmental impact assessment stage is provided by the list of facilities that need to obtain an Opinion, defined in parts 2 and 3 of Article 3 of the Law on Environmental Impact Assessment. The main criterion for inclusion in this list is the possible danger to the environment. The purpose of my thesis is to consider the introduction of a new activity, namely the construction of gas stations in the Lviv region on the section of the road that is just planned to be built. The project is fictional and not real. Any company can act in its place. I chose as a label the leading company of Ukraine in the field of import of imported fuel PJSC "OKKO". The environmental impact assessment stage is performed in three stages: 1) The business entity must be notified of the planned activities for environmental impact assessment to the local state administration (or directly to the Ministry of Environment). Within 20 working days from the date of publication of the data in the Unified Register of Environmental Impact Assessment, the public may submit comments on the planned activities. 2) When preparing an environmental impact assessment report, the business entity shall take into account in full, take into account in part or reasonably reject the comments and suggestions of the public. The main thing is that the Law does not provide for the possibility of administrative or judicial appeal against the refusal to take into account the comments. That is, comments are purely formal in nature, and serve mainly to interact with the social environment. There are few cases when people are categorically against the construction of gas stations and resort to protests. However, it is necessary to exhaust all conflicts, for harmonious coexistence and successful reputation. 3) The final stage is to obtain an opinion from the Ministry of Environment or the authorized regional representation on the right or absence of the right to carry out this activity.
