Abstract: Geodesy has been taught here since the founding of Lviv Polytechnic, which is currently one of the five best domestic universities. In 1952, the Department of Engineering Geodesy was established from the staff of the Department of Astronomical Geodesy. The first head of the department was Assoc. Zavodovsky O.V. Teachers of the department were: senior teachers Gorin O.O., Makar O.S., Kibalnikov V.I., Lavrov G.F., Sumarokov O.S., Monin I.F., Chalyuk T.N. and assistants Novoselskaya V.P., Pankratiev R.M., Scelnikov V.M. Here they trained engineers in the specialty "Engineering Geodesy". Since 1956, engineers majoring in "Aerial Photography" have been trained here. Ten years later, in 1962, the department was headed by Associate Professor Monin I.F., who was a senior lecturer at the time of the department’s founding. A year later, in 1963, the specialty of aerial photogeodesy was separated from the department, a new department was created, which was headed by Assoc. Prof. Pankratiev R.M. At the same time, a number of teachers were transferred to the new department. There are 10 teachers and 2 laboratory assistants left at the Department of Engineering Geodesy. There is a growing need for specialists studying at the Department of Engineering Geodesy nowadays. This requires an increase in the number of students and teachers. Talented surveyors Juman B.M., Puzanov S.I., Kvasnyuk B.P., Kornitsky Y.M., Miroshnyk Y.D., Kostetskaya Y.M., Plakhotny S.I., Khodakov V.V. started working here. Employees of the department, as experienced specialists, regularly performed engineering and geodetic works using high-precision technologies, the department cooperated with industrial enterprises and geodetic organizations. In the sixties and seventies of the last century, employees of the department were involved in high-precision leveling works in the Carpathians, observed the changes that took place in various engineering structures. Like most scientists who love and care about their work, teachers conduct research. Many of them studied the influence of external factors on geodetic measurements, annually organizing scientific expeditions for experimental research. They study various methods that affect the basis of geodetic measurements. The department trained highly qualified specialists paying great attention to educational and methodological work. In 1957, a geodetic landfill was created in the vicinity of Sudova Vyshnya for the training of students and their practical training. There also was created training grounds in Berezhany, Ternopil region, in 1966, as well as dormitories and a dining rooms for students were built. Planned and high-altitude networks (triangulation, leveling) were built in this place. The development of production required an increase in the number of specialists in this field, so from 1974 to early 1983 the teaching staff increased. There were 23 people at the department. Teachers who worked during this period: Arkhangelsky V.V., Vilensky O.O., Volosetsky B.I., Goncharov O.O., Deineka Y.P., Ilkiv R.R., Koval P.I., Kolos A.S., Lisovets O.G., Nikiforov V.V., Sazhin V.O., Skril V.A., Sologor I.V. Since 1985 Oliyar M.G., Petrov S.L., Khomyak V.S., Khropot S.G., Tserklevych A.L. have been working at the department. Associate Professor Tartachynsky R.M. became the head of the department. At this time, much attention is paid to the material base of the department, laboratories are organized, and curricula are reformed. Due to the changes in the country, gaining Independence - the State needs more specialists in certain fields. Since 1994, the specialty "Land Management and Cadastre" was opened with specializations "Land and Real Estate Valuation", "Land and Property Relations" and "Territorial Management", which was the achievement of prof. Perovich L.M., who headed the department. The department was named "Engineering Geodesy and Cadastre" in 1998. The staff of the department was increased by relevant specialists. Later (in 2002), taking into account the changes in the legislation of Ukraine, the department "Cadastre of Territories" receives a separate status, and our department returns to its previous name. The department was headed by prof. Kostecka Y.M. In connection with the transition of the National University to multilevel training, the department graduates specialists and masters in "Geodesy". Much attention at the department is paid to improving the educational and methodological work, training of highly qualified specialists. The department has a branch research laboratory for the use of GPS-technologies in geodesy, which performs various high-precision engineering and geodetic works, as well as geodetic works for the inventory of land plots using the latest technologies. Object of research - the Department of Engineering Geodesy of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" The subject of research is the geography of teachers of the Department of Engineering Geodesy The purpose of the study - is the need to organize information about the geography of teachers and engineers who have ever worked at the Department of EG. This will help to recreate and preserve the history of the department, will provide the user with the necessary information about a particular employee. [3] To achieve this goal you need: • Collection and information processing. • Formation of a database of processed information. • Using web application creation software. The initial data of the master’s qualification work was information from the book "Department of Engineering Geodesy; 50 years; Historical and bibliographic essay", from Internet resources. The result of the study was a web application with a series of maps: "Scientific and pedagogical and support staff of the Department of EG", "Scientific and pedagogical and support staff of the Department of EG 2003", "Scientific and pedagogical and support staff of the Department of EG 2021" "percentage map the number of teachers from a certain part of Lviv region to the total number of teachers born in Ukraine." This web application will be hosted on the site https://oleksandrpopiuk.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=2cb9e36c6c124c03a7cb6572f4b34503 and will be available for other users.
