Abstract: Nowadays, many industrial enterprises need reactive power compensation. The most popular and cheapest solution is to use a condenser unit. In the electrical networks of such enterprises, the non-linear load generates harmonics, which complicates the reactive power compensation process, since there may be an amplification process of the individual harmonic currents, through the use of capacitor banks. The reason for this is the problems of using the compensation system, such as overloading of the capacitors; increased voltage distortion in the electrical network. A cement plant was chosen for my research because this type of enterprises includes high power DC drives. The use of DC drives is associated with the peculiarities of the production process and is the reason for the appearance of significant levels of harmonic currents in the network. In practice, business power networks with high non-linear load and combinations of power filters and capacitor units are used. To minimize voltage harmonic distortions caused by non-linear loads, power harmonic filters are used. Often in practice several harmonic filters tuned to different harmonics are used. Despite all the manufacturing capacity of the harmonic filter manufacturing process, there are still deviations of certain parameters that can affect the performance of the filters and the entire power supply system of the enterprises. The object of study is the non-sinusoidal mode of operation of the object’s power supply system. The object of study is the non-sinusoidal mode of operation of the object’s power supply system. The research topic is the influence of the deviations of the parameters of capacitors and reactors in non-sinusoidal mode, load of elements of the reactive power compensation system. The purpose of the study - to investigate the problems of operation of compensation devices in electrical networks; analyze the impact of the deviations of the parameters of capacitors and reactors in the non-sinusoidal mode, loading the elements of the reactive power compensation system; make recommendations on the principles of use of capacitor banks and harmonic filters in electrical networks. To achieve these objectives, the following steps were carried out: • the analysis of the electric network of the enterprise is carried out; • the alternate scheme of an electric network is created; • based on the backup scheme, a mathematical model was created to calculate non-sinusoidal states of the power supply system and the load of harmonic filters for different modes of operation of the power supply system of the object; • on the basis of the calculations an explanatory note of the teacher’s qualification work was formed; The practical importance of MCR is to study the problem of the operation of compensation devices in electrical networks. This algorithm allows to analyze the non-sinusoidal states of the power system and a load of harmonic filters for different modes of operation of the power system installations. In the future, the results of this work can be used in the design work and in the planning process of the development of power supply networks of enterprises.
