Abstract: The thesis defines the concept of an exhibition space as an open area designed for: - creative self-expression, - free interaction with other artists or visitors, - self-improvement of their own work at the level of criticism and general evaluation of the visitor. The exhibition area is usually created as a multifunctional space on the basis of public cultural-entertaining and licensing agencies. There are current, well-known and deeply investigated building regulations for the interior of the film photography exhibition space. International and domestic analogues of art spaces that were built on the basis of public areas, which are not currently functioning, were analyzed. The design project concept of the exhibition space based on a combination of different style trends was developed. The main approaches to the volumetric-spatial and stylistic solutions were defined. In terms of content and design — photo exhibitions are considered to be one of the most promising trends in the modern exhibition activity development. As a result of the research, the concept of exposing specifically film photography has been chosen because of its current relevance among today’s youth and older artists, who have long been engaged in film photography and have not let this craft disappear among the large number of developed technologies and digital overwhelming. The chosen exhibition space is based on exhibitions of unique photographic works made on film and old exhibits of retro photo and video equipment. A photographic exposure absorbs a variety of components and generalizations, the synthesis of which creates a single complex organism. Contemporary art galleries and exhibition centers can be described as quite dynamic exhibition activities which are enriched by new forms of displaying creative exhibits. In order to carry out a particular exhibition project involving photographic works, it is now possible to use modern technical and display advances that enable the transformation of exhibition space and the use of multimedia technology. The photographic expositions used in the design of the exhibition space synthesize the author’s concept, peculiarities of the architectural environment, lighting, etc. At trade fairs and exhibitions, photographic works find their purpose even more as an element of exposition design, as an advertising message and as a means of informing participants and visitors about the subject matter of the exhibition. The possibilities and conditions issue of using the photographic exposition as an integral part of the trade and industrial exhibition is topical. Modern design techniques in the formation of expositions were analyzed. In the course of this research work, it was determined that the spatial organization of expositions is divided into transit and exposition functional areas. The area and size of the zones depend on: - the means of exposure, - the available space for this area, - the characteristics and number of expositions, - the artistic and scientific concept of the exposition. The study developed a classification of the types of compositional solution of the exposition areas. The size and geometry of the design should allow a full view of the exhibits, comfortable and quick movement of the visitors through the exposition hall and meet the requirements of disabled people. The special equipment features are known and identified. Such exposition equipment as shelving units, consoles, mounting partitions, podiums, etc. are preferred in modern design, to which certain requirements are imposed as to the construction size of the necessary structures and their height according to the height of the room and fixing of the exposition objects to the equipment. The specialization of visual communication means and information notes, specifically the creation of a corporate style for information support of the exposition and advertising of the author of an exposition. The corporate style can be accompanied by some graphic components. The peculiarities of the lighting elements use and systems in the exhibition spaces design are analyzed using global examples where there are certain advantages in using of diffused and accent lighting in certain locations or zones. Nowadays, the development of science and industry is really rapid and exhibitions are not only a way of demonstrating scientific and industrial achievements but also an opportunity for participating companies to present themselves and make some profitable trade agreements. However, the location for exhibitions is very important because such events need specific conditions. That`s why the topic of designing the interior of a multipurpose exhibition hall is very relevant. Key words: exposition, exhibition, design, film photography, design.
