Abstract: The purpose of this master’s thesis was to develop a project for a smart city simulation system based on the Thingworx platform. A smart city is an organized system of devices that can be programmed to meet human needs through appropriate software. The key features of a smart city are: • technology-based infrastructure; • environmental initiatives; • efficient and highly functional public transport; • confident and progressive plans of the city; • people who are able to live and work within the city using its resources. Modern information technologies perform three important tasks in the "smart city": provide fast communication channels for information transmission; collect and transmit the necessary data to the municipal management services; act as a means of feedback between the city administration and its residents. The latest devices greatly simplify this task. Inventors from around the world are working to create devices that will perform the tasks as independently as possible, without the need for human intervention. The object of research is the concept of "Smart city" and its development in the world and in Ukraine. At the heart of the concept of Smart City, is a settlement that uses a variety of information technology to function effectively as a full-fledged system, as well as to meet the needs of its inhabitants. The Internet of Things is a major component of such systems. IoT (Internet of Things) - Internet of Things - devices that are connected to the Internet and controlled from web or mobile applications. They are used both in the homes of ordinary people and in entire cities. So there is the problem of combining smart devices with each other and with software. The subject of the research is the creation of a Smart City with the help of the Thingworx platform. Development of a project to create a Smart City concept for the application of methodologies for charting and analysis. The practical significance of the results is to create a software product that will make life easier for city residents, reduce economic costs and environmental losses, reduce road traffic and use resources better. Research methods. The following methods were used to solve the tasks of the master’s thesis: system analysis, design of diagrams of design requirements, software programming. As a result of the subject study, it was concluded that smart cities are the next round of modernity after smart devices, behind them the future of our world. In many highly developed cities, large sums of money are invested in the development of smart cities. Taking an example from them, Ukraine is taking the first steps in establishing similar systems. So the topic is extremely relevant and necessary, especially for our territory. The work was implemented on the basis of the Thingworx platform and the Eclipse development environment in Java, which have the appropriate capabilities to perform this type of task, built-in libraries and methods that can be reused in the development process. The Thingworx development platform allows you to create a variety of products with smart devices, through built-in methods and libraries, as well as an environment for adding your own code and elements. The platform is a tool for use by both large corporations and independent developers. An important aspect of the work is the tools and methods of project management that have been used. Project management is the use of specific knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to ensure compliance of project activities with project objectives. Throughout human history, project management has always been practiced informally, but it began to emerge as a separate profession in the mid-20th century, when a group of far-sighted people from aerospace, engineering, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications realized that the world was changing. new tools are needed. Motivated by the need to address the planning and resource challenges associated with increasingly complex projects, they came together to begin establishing and standardizing tools for the new profession. And in 1969 the Institute of Project Management (PMI) was born. Various techniques and software were used during the project implementation. Such as: UML chart development environments - Rational Rose, Visual Paradigm Enterprise, AllFusion BPwin Data Modeler and project planning - MS Projects. Research results. The task of the master’s qualification work was completed successfully, as testing the functionality of the software showed that the system meets the objectives of traffic light control, switching lights, notifying the load of garbage cans, has a convenient, clear design and consistency of devices that were the most important criteria. work.
