Abstract: The most widely used mode of transportation among residents of large cities and metropolises, especially where there is no metro, is urban bus routes. During their route, buses transport passengers across the city, providing a convenient and comfortable means of transportation. The city authorities have a constant obligation to improve the quality of transportation for passengers, aiming to enhance their comfort when regularly using public transport. If buses operate inadequately, are in poor condition, or follow an unclear route and schedule, it negatively affects the quality of life for the community and various institutions. Such a situation complicates the daily lives of citizens and city residents. Currently, the quality of bus transport in the city leaves much to be desired: significant time expenditures for travel, low comfort levels during trips, as well as technical and technological problems in the effective operation of urban bus transport. Interaction between suburban and urban passenger transportation also poses challenges. Waiting times at stops, travel costs, and other aspects adversely affect the satisfaction and comfort of passengers, causing dissatisfaction among city residents. The relevance of the study is the duration of trips in relation to each other on the same route, taking into account various factors, as well as depending on different times of the day. This work conducted field research on the travel times of buses along the route. It was determined that significant delays occur at approaches to intersections without traffic lights, especially during peak hours. The main part determining the content of the master’s thesis is the study of the duration of journeys on the route during peak and off-peak periods of the day, taking into account different types of intersections along the route of bus movement. The object of the study is the movement of buses on the urban public transport route No. 5A. The subject of the study is the investigation of trip durations and traffic conditions on route No. 5A. The purpose of the study is to analyze the duration of bus travel on the route during different time intervals of the day. As a result of the analysis and study of traffic conditions on the route, the main sections and intersections causing significant delays during peak hours were identified. Keywords – urban route, time intervals, approaches to intersections, traffic delays, time of day. References 1. Peters, Jan, et al.
