Abstract: This scientific study carefully analyzes the impact of modern mass media on the development and resolution of international conflicts. A comprehensive review of the sources of domestic and foreign authors was conducted, which made it possible to take into account different points of view and scientific approaches to this issue. In Ukrainian science, the question of the influence of mass media on international relations began to be studied relatively recently. Such scientists as J. Merrill, S. Livingston, H. Seybert, and others [4] conducted research into the role of mass media in the settlement of international conflicts. The issue of the influence of propaganda on the formation of public opinion is covered in detail. Proposed substantiated recommendations for improving the quality of work. The object of research is the processes of international conflict resolution in the 21st century. Solutions to complex conflicts are rarely black and white. Demonizing language and one-sided propaganda are not helpful. By carefully covering different points of view, quality journalism can shed light on pragmatic ways to end violence [1], [2]. The paper analyzes in detail the mechanisms of coverage of events in the media and their possible consequences for the escalation or de-escalation of international confrontations. Both positive examples of the constructive role of journalism in promoting peace processes, as well as negative examples - the spread of propaganda and disinformation, which can affect the dynamics of conflicts [5], [3], are considered. Modern society has reached a high level of information development, which has led to the unification of information in a single global information space. The growth of tools for influencing the masses not only does not reduce their activity, but also, on the contrary, further activates this process, turning the information message into an effective tool of information warfare [5]. Information warfare is a comprehensive strategy focused on making information meaningful in the context of command, control and mission performance of the armed forces, as well as in the implementation of national policy. This war targets all possible aspects and vulnerabilities arising from the growing dependence on information and uses information in possible conflicts [1].
