Abstract: The rapid development of information and computer technologies and their introduction into the everyday life of society has led to a sharp decrease in the level of reading. The problem of reading deficit among children and youth is painful [1]. The key to effective support of the status of reading is the implementation of a social partnership of such subjects of the information sphere as publishing houses, libraries, writers, mass media [2; 3] and program and project activities of libraries, which allows for attracting additional resources [2]. It is school libraries that should primarily focus their efforts on supporting reading as a strategic direction of their activity [4; 5]. Study object - popularization and development of reading culture among the youth audience. Scope of research is the development of the concept of implementation of information support for the promotion of reading by the school library among students. Goal of research: formation of the concept of implementation of information support for the popularization of reading by the school library among students. The first chapter presents an analytical review of scientific and normative sources on the issues of the popularization of reading and innovative types of library activities. The role of the library as an intellectual information center and platform is updated [2; 6]. Prospective directions of the library’s activities [7] and practical foreign experience in the context of information support for the popularization of reading are revealed [8-10]. In the second chapter, a detailed systematic analysis of the information activity of the library of Lyceum No. 37 of the city of Lviv as a subject area of research was carried out. Prospective directions for improving the library’s activities in the context of popularizing reading have been identified. In the third chapter, informational and functional models of the process of popularization of reading among students by the school library were formed, which constitute the theoretical basis of the research and the basis for the practical implementation of the project. The fourth chapter describes the course of practical implementation of the developed concept of information support for the popularization of reading by the Lyceum No. 37 library of the city of Lviv among students. The obtained results are evaluated from the point of view of effectiveness and counteraction to security risks and conflict situations.
