Abstract: Food security in the world is the foundation of sustainable development and a factor of international political and economic stability. The availability of safe food products and their sufficient quantity is the main indicator of the standard of living of the society, determinant of the health of the population and prospects for the existence of future generations. For a long time, the problem of the food crisis has become global and is one of the greatest political challenges at the world level. The Russian-Ukrainian war became a factor of tension, exacerbating the manifestations of the food crisis in the world. Given the fact that Ukraine has a super-powerful export potential, the economic consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war have become noticeable not only in the Eastern European region, but also spread to other continents. It is precisely because of the importance of Ukraine in the context of global food security that the study of the specifics of the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine on the food crisis in the world and the mechanisms of mitigating its consequences for global food security is relevant. The paper has analyzed such a topical global problem as the world food crisis: the concept, causes and features of this phenomenon [2]. The methodologies of food security assessment have been singled out [5]. The mechanisms of combating the food crisis as a critical state of food security have been highlighted [1]. Particular attention has been paid to the analysis of the role of the war of Russia against Ukraine in the exacerbation of the manifestations of the global food crisis [3; 6]. International efforts in combating the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war for food security in the world have been studied and further recommendations have been given [4]. The object of the research is global food crisis as a critical state of food security. The subject of the research is the Russian-Ukrainian war as a factor of the global food crisis. The purpose of the research is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the problem of the global food crisis as a consequence of the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on food security. As a result of the research, it has been found that there is an undeniable interest in the topic of master’s thesis among Ukrainian and foreign researchers. It has been concluded that the global food problem is one of the biggest problems of humanity. It has been analyzed that the problem of the food crisis is very broad and tangential to many other security aspects. The mechanisms of assessing the food crisis and the mechanisms of combating it as a critical state of food security have been studied. The extremely important role of Ukraine as one of the main exporters of grain crops in the world has been revealed. It has been analyzed that Russian aggression, which, in particular, manifested itself in the blocking of food supplies from Ukraine, led to a sharp increase in world food prices, especially for grain and energy, and also had a general detrimental effect on the availability of food throughout the world. This has exacerbated the food crisis in many regions: North Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America. It has been found that this situation forced the world community to determine possible ways to mitigate the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine in the context of the food crisis in the world. The role of the Black Sea Grain Initiative has been noted, which made it possible to significantly improve economic indicators in many countries and global indicators in general, as well as to stop the further deepening of the food crisis. The practical efforts of international organizations (EU, IMF, UN, World Bank) to improve food security in the world, which was undermined by the food crisis as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war, have been studied. As a result, the need for complex efforts has been emphasized, which should include deepening of international cooperation, financial and political support of starving states. Recommendations have been made to continue the search for new ways of exporting provision from Ukraine and alternative suppliers in order to reduce the needs of Ukrainian food and reduce the pressure on the global food situation in the world.
