Abstract: A guitar workshop is a specialized facility dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and customization of guitars. These workshops undertake various tasks such as string replacement, body repair, neck adjustment, and installation of new components. The primary goal of guitar workshops is to provide high-quality and professional services to help musicians maintain and enhance their instruments [1]. Recently, there has been a rapid development in the field of musical instrument manufacturing and repair, particularly guitars. This growth is driven by several key factors. Firstly, according to Statista, guitar sales are increasing each year [2], indicating a growing interest in music and guitar playing. According to data from the analytical company IBISWorld, along with the increase in demand for guitars, the popularity of guitar workshops is also rising [3]. Secondly, the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdowns forced people to stay home, prompting many to seek new hobbies such as playing the guitar. As a result, the demand for their repair and maintenance increased, as more new and experienced musicians required professional services from guitar workshops. Clients can turn to such workshops to order custom guitars or service existing instruments. However, traditional methods requiring personal presence or phone calls are becoming less effective as they require more time and resources. The development of information technology creates new opportunities for guitar workshops. They can utilize modern information systems to improve order management, material accounting, inventory, and customer service processes. These systems allow the automation of many routine processes, providing faster and more efficient service. They also facilitate interaction with customers, allowing them to easily order services, track order status, and obtain additional information about the workshop’s products and services. The application of information systems helps guitar workshops improve service quality, offer more additional options, and expand the range of goods and services, which helps attract new clients. These systems also enable the automation of financial accounting, increasing accuracy and transparency in bookkeeping. The mentioned advantages make the development of an information system for a guitar workshop important and beneficial. It will not only reduce order processing time but also improve the workshop’s efficiency, allowing for better customer service. Additionally, such systems provide workshops with the ability to increase profits through better resource management and customer service. Examining the activities of guitar workshops, several processes can be automated to improve efficiency and accuracy. Specifically, automation can address the following workshop processes: • Order accounting; • Inventory management; • Financial accounting; • Personnel management; • Customer interaction. The object of the study is the processes involved in building information systems for the automation of institution activities. The subject of the study is the methods and tools for designing and building an information system for automating the activities of a guitar workshop. The goal of the research is to design and develop an information system for a guitar workshop. The result of the research is the creation of an information system for a guitar workshop, where users can access a system that includes functionality for managing the workshop’s processes, employees, and inventory. Additionally, the analysis of literature sources was conducted, the system was compared with similar systems, requirements for the created system were formulated, a goal tree was constructed and based on it, the analytic hierarchy process method was applied, the system was designed using UML and corresponding diagrams, methods and tools for system implementation were determined, the software implementation of the system was carried out, and the correctness of its execution was analyzed.
