Abstract: The master’s thesis is dedicated to the current problem in the field of road construction materials – improving the performance properties of road petroleum bitumens and asphalt concretes derived from them. Road petroleum bitumens are key binding materials used in the production of asphalt mixtures for road construction. However, their production and use are accompanied by a number of problems. The first problem is that Ukrainian oil refineries cannot obtain high-quality road distillation bitumen due to the absence of domestic heavy aromatic oils, which are the main raw material for bitumen production. The second problem lies in the insufficiently high heat resistance and adhesive properties of commercial distillation (residual) and oxidized petroleum bitumens. This leads to the deterioration of road surfaces with increasing intensity of road traffic, volumes of heavy-duty transportation, vehicle weight, and the influence of weather-climatic factors on road structure. The third problem is the necessity of adding expensive industrial polymer modifiers to improve the performance properties of both distillation and oxidized bitumens. Currently, various classes of modifying additives are widely used to improve the properties of bitumens. Every year, new modifiers appear in Ukraine, which requires comprehensive research on bitumens and asphalt concretes modified with these additives. The use of quality bitumens and their modification with effective additives significantly improves the properties of asphalt concretes and increases the service life of road surfaces. This allows for longer intervals between repair works and reduces the consumption of human, material, fuel-energy, and financial resources. The aim of the master’s thesis was to investigate the influence of amine-type adhesive additives on the properties of oxidized bitumens and asphalt concretes. During the work, the following main tasks were performed: • Studied the effect of adhesive additives on the properties of bitumen; • Established the feasibility of modifying bitumen with amine-type adhesive additives. A material balance was also calculated, and a technological scheme for obtaining modified bitumens was designed. The master’s qualification work contains calculations of the main techno-economic indicators of the study. Keywords: bitumen, modified bitumen, adhesive additives, adhesion, asphalt concretes.
