Abstract: This master’s degree thesis presents the results of calculations and modelling of heat transfer for cooling caustic soda in a shell-and-tube heat exchanger. The essence of the heat exchange process and mathematical modelling of the heat exchange process is considered. The technological scheme of caustic soda production is described. The modelling is carried out in the SolidWorks Flow Simulation software package. The results of the simulation are presented in the form of graphical visualisation and the results are analysed.
