Abstract: Maksym STUPACHENKO. Increasing the man-made safety of the operation of the Brodivska thermal power plant. - Qualifying scientific work on manuscript rights Work on obtaining a master’s degree in the field of knowledge 26 "Civil security", specialty 263 "Civil security". - Lviv Polytechnic National University of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Lviv, 2023. The work is devoted to the development of a complex of measures to ensure the trouble-free operation of technological equipment, the creation of safe working conditions for service personnel during the operation of the Brodivska Thermal Power Plant. The main technological aspects of the operation of the Brodivskaya CHP are characterized. The list of pollutants released into the environment as a result of the operation of the CHP is given. A set of measures to ensure technogenic safety of the thermal power plant is proposed, which include: the integration of automated means capable of responding to the detection of potentially dangerous conditions and, if necessary, automatically turning off the equipment; carrying out systematic maintenance and equipment inspections; provision of appropriate education and training for personnel; application of remote monitoring and control systems; determination of production risk. Peace enterprises for the development and implementation of the occupational health and safety management system are characterized. and personnel actions in the event of an emergency - fire and/or explosion. In order to ensure the safety of the environment during the operation of the Brodivska CHPP, based on the analysis of the technological process and the properties of the substances emitted into the environment, the choice of the method of cleaning the flue gases of the Brodivska CHPP from nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide is substantiated. A department for cleaning flue gases from nitrogen and carbon oxides by catalytic reduction and from dust particles by the centrifugal method has been designed. A battery cyclone was calculated for cleaning flue gases from small ash particles, a catalytic column for cleaning flue gases from nitrogen and carbon oxides with a capacity of 10,000 m3/h was proposed.
