Abstract: Ukraine is going through a period of significant social and political changes, and war veterans who participated in the defense of our country are becoming an important aspect of social development. The relevance of the topic “Prospects for the formation of a system of social support for war veterans in Ukraine” is determined by the acute social and economic context in which the country is located. Ensuring adequate social protection and support for war veterans is becoming a priority for building a stable society. Veterans need social integration and psychological support. A significant number of them face difficulties integrating into civilian life and need psychological and social support after returning from the conflict zone. The military also faces economic instability. Many veterans face the challenge of finding new professional opportunities and adapting to economic realities (Kozlovska & Mykoliuk, 2023). There is also a need for high-quality medical care and rehabilitation for veterans with trauma and mental disorders (Berezhna, 2021). The development of a comprehensive system that includes medical, psychological, economic and social support is necessary for the social protection system of our country (Kolenichenko, 2022). Object of research: social support for war veterans in Ukraine. Scope of research: peculiarities of the organization of the system of social support for war veterans in Ukraine. Goal of research: to analyze existing approaches to social support for war veterans in Ukraine, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and develop recommendations for improving the system of social support for veterans, taking into account the current challenges and needs of society. Research results. The study found that social support for veterans covers a wide range of areas, including psychological assistance, legal protection, employment support, financial assistance and access to quality medical services. The article analyzes the existing system of social support for veterans in Ukraine. In particular, it was found that the current system of social support in Ukraine involves the implementation of state programs through local communities. It was found that there are a number of problems, including insufficient funding, poor coordination between different levels of government, and limited access to services in remote regions. Specific needs of war veterans have been identified. In particular, many veterans face post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression, which requires professional support. Based on the study, the author emphasizes the need to create an integrated model of social support that would include clear coordination between local authorities, NGOs and government agencies, and take into account the individual needs of veterans for their successful adaptation to peaceful life.
