Abstract: The master’s qualification thesis is devoted to the design of a fuel oil hydrotreatment plant. This process is used to prepare raw materials for residual catalytic cracking, which is one of the leading processes of destructive oil refining. This master’s thesis is a component of the complex project of an oil refinery for the processing of sulphurous oils, which is proposed to be built near the city of Brody, Lviv Region The planned plant will process oil supplied by oil pipelines as a fuel option with a large depth of oil processing. The essence of the complex project is that one raw material is used for its implementation, and the productivity of each installation is related to the previous one, therefore, all stages of oil processing can be considered as a whole. Productivity of the planned plant is 8.0 million. ton per year. The capacity of the planned fuel oil hydrotreatment plant is 1.5 million. ton per year. The integrated project developed a current scheme of oil processing, which is common to all installations of the plant and to all relevant master’s qualification theses. The RDS technology was chosen as the basis for the design of the new fuel oil hydrodesulfurization plant. The developer is UOP. According to this technology, the hydrotreatment process is carried out in reactors with a stationary catalyst layer. In the first reactor, hydrodemetallization of raw materials is carried out, in the second - its hydrodesulfurization. The new technological plant for the hydrotreatment of fuel oil is a structural unit of the new oil refinery. This installation will be connected to plant-wide networks and communications (power supply, circulating water, fuel gas, sewerage, etc.). The master’s thesis consists of an introduction and three sections. The first section is a technical and economic justification. In this section, the choice of the fuel oil hydrotreatment installation technology and performance is substantiated. Also, the connection of the fuel oil hydrotreatment plant to the existing engineering networks and communications of the operating production was carried out. The second part of the work is the technological part. This section describes the theoretical foundations of the fuel oil hydrotreatment process. The characteristics of the raw materials and products of the installation are given. A basic technological diagram of the fuel oil hydrotreatment plant has been developed. The material balance of the installation is calculated. After that, the technological calculation of the equipment of the installation was carried out and the selection of equipment was carried out according to the reference literature. The master plan of the fuel oil hydrotreatment plant has been developed. The third section of the work is the economic part. The calculation of the production program, the calculation of the number of personnel, and the calculation of the wage fund were carried out here. The calculation of capital costs for the installation of a fuel oil hydrotreatment plant was also carried out. The calculation of the production cost of the installation was calculated. Keywords: hydrotreating; oil fuel; residual raw materials; catalyst; depth of oil processing; reactor.
