Characteristics of the educational program: Students gain the necessary knowledge to ensure fire safety of industrial and civil objects. During the study, students thoroughly study the processes of fire, behavior of building materials and structures in fire conditions Students get the necessary knowledge on fire prevention, fire tactics, fire and rescue equipment. Special attention during the training given to the study of fire prevention, management and activities of units of fire safety, fire resistance of building structures.
Програмні результати навчання: - to assess the fire hazard of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, water supply in buildings and structures, settlements, industrial and other facilities in the design and estimate documentation for construction, reconstruction, restoration, repair of buildings, structures and other facilities and compliance of allotted area for new construction to the requirements of fire safety regulations;
- to develop technical measures for fire protection of buildings and structures, settlements, industrial and other facilities, assess the compliance of building materials, buildings and structures with fire resistance and compliance of fire and rescue equipment and tools to current regulations;
- to check the fire hazard of technological processes, buildings and structures and other objects at the stage of construction and operation;
- to evaluate the fire hazard and the level of fire safety of electrical installations, devices and equipment and compliance of automatic activated fire safety installations with regulations on fire safety;
- to develop prophylactic measures to prevent fires and their impact on people and the environment;
- to organize control over ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations in the field of fire safety during the design of buildings and structures;
- to control the compliance with requirements of norms and rules in the field of fire safety during development of fire-hazardous substances and materials, devices, the equipment and other production, construction, reconstruction, technical re-equipment, operation of buildings, structures and other facilities;
- to control the elimination of the causes and conditions that contribute to the occurrence and spread of fire, prevent its timely elimination and rescue;
- to organize actions to prevent emergencies and reduce the level of probable damage and to comply with occupational safety and health;
- to organize work with voluntary fire brigades and associations, conduct activities to promote firefighting knowledge with the use of information and various forms of promotion and mass work, training;
- to carry out management actions to ensure control over the implementation of fire safety measures and the state of fire safety at the facilities being serviced;
- to carry out an inspection of construction projects for compliance with fire safety requirements, to supervise the implementation of fire safety requirements during construction and installation works, acceptance of facilities for operation and during operation of buildings and structures;
- to determine the characteristics of fire (technogenic) danger of substances, materials, technological processes, buildings and structures, equipment of fire protection systems of buildings and structures;
- to carry out control over observance of labor safety and sanitary and hygienic requirements;
- to investigate accidents and emergencies;
- to conduct training of employees of the facility and the population on fire safety and training with the personnel of the unit;
- to control the efficiency of technical means of fire protection, fire automation, fire and rescue equipment, personal protective equipment (protective breathing apparatus) and means of communication;
- to provide first aid in crisis situations of the victim;
- the ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and one of the foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish);
- the ability to use a variety of methods, including information technology, for effective communication at the professional and social levels;
- to apply non-verbal methods of communication and communicate in the Ukrainian professional language;
- to apply oral and written contacts in situations of professional communication;
- to search for new information and expand the lexical and grammatical minimum, reading and comprehension of professionally-oriented and general scientific foreign language literature, its use in social and professional spheres;
- to use information technology to process foreign language professionally-oriented sources, create databases;
- to take into account the legal principles, religious and moral beliefs, processes of socio-political history of Ukraine in carrying out activities;
- to promote the creation of an appropriate moral and psychological climate in the unit;
- ability to adapt to new situations and make decisions;
- ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge;
- ability to treat the work responsibly and achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics;
- ability to demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of occupational safety and health and their application;
- to diagnose their own psychological states and feelings in order to ensure effective and safe activities, determine the goals and objectives of their own activities and ensure their effective and safe implementation, to self-regulate behavior in everyday life and at work and lead a healthy lifestyle;
- to ensure environmentally balanced activities, the required level of individual safety and mental health in the event of dangerous situations;
- ability to organize the work in accordance with the established professional tasks and make an informed decision when performing work on fire protection of facilities and territories.
Academic mobility: Based on bilateral agreements between Lviv Polytechnic National University and higher educational institutions of foreign partner countries.
