- implement their knowledge to identify and solve problems and make informed decisions in the field of the Earth sciences;
- know how to communicate with specialists and experts of different levels from other fields of knowledge, as well as conduct the said communication in the international context, and the global information environment;
- develop, manage, and supervise projects in the field of Earth sciences, evaluate, and ensure the quality of work;
- plan and carry out scientific experiments, and write scientific papers that align with their specialty;
- able to carry out environmental assessment, audit, licensing, and certification of the use of natural resources, and predict the development of environmental, technological, economic, and social consequences on certain objects of natural resources;
- recognize the modern methods of studying the Earth and its geospheres and implement them in manufacturing processes and research activities;
- know the basic principles of conducting and controlling enterprises in the field of natural resource management, their organization, manufacturing, and organizational structure of management;
- develop and implement mechanisms of territorial management, geoplanning, monitor regional development, and compose the plans and programs;
- solve practical problems of Earth sciences (by specialization) using theories, principles, and methods of various specialties in the field of natural sciences;
- use modern methods of modeling and processing of geoinformation in conducting innovative activities;
- plan the implementation of an innovative task by themselves and formulate conclusions based on its results;
- assess the environmental and economic impact on the environment when implementing engineering measures and design environmental protection measures.
