Мета вивчення дисципліни: The goal of studying the discipline "Academic integrity and quality of education" is defined as follows: the development of a culture of academic integrity, the formation of general scientific competencies and universal skills in students of the third (educational and scientific) level of the Doctor of Philosophy, necessary for the complex solution of scientific and pedagogical problems in a higher education institution following the principles of academic integrity, in the context of the theory and practice of external and internal quality assurance of higher education following European standards and recommendations, as well as the Code of Corporate Culture of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
Завдання: The study of the discipline involves the formation of students' competencies: Integral competence: ability to produce innovative scientific ideas, master the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activities, solve complex problems in innovative research and professional activities, and conduct original research in the professional sphere at the international and national levels. General competence: the ability to carry out professional-pedagogical and research activity in the field with observance of academic integrity, ability to organize the process of professional training of students according to the European standards and recommendations of quality assurance in higher education, national specificity and internal quality assurance system of Lviv Polytechnic National University. Knowledge of: the theoretical fundamentals of academic integrity and its significance in the quality assurance system in higher education; practices of forming academic integrity culture as a component of academic community corporate culture at higher education institutions; higher education quality assurance at European, national and higher education levels; specifics of the accreditation process and the role of stakeholders in higher education quality assurance. Skills: to organize the professional and pedagogical activity with observance of academic integrity; to implement research activities based on academic integrity culture; to use the rights and responsibilities of the student as a stakeholder in the process of educational programs accreditation, implemented at Lviv Polytechnic National University; to participate in the selection of independent (external) experts of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Communication: advanced communication on issues related to the field of scientific and expert knowledge with colleagues, the general scientific community, and society as a whole; use of academic Ukrainian and foreign languages in professional activities and research. Responsibility and Autonomy: demonstrate substantial authority, innovation, high level of autonomy, scholarly and professional integrity and sustained commitment to developing new ideas or processes at the forefront of work or study contexts, including research; ability to continuous self-development and self-improvement.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline "Academic integrity and quality of education", the student must be able to demonstrate programmatic learning outcomes that are correlated with the competencies of the educational and scientific program for training a doctor of philosophy: Knowledge (KN): knowledge of the theoretical foundations of academic integrity and its importance in the system of quality assurance of higher education; practices of forming a culture of academic integrity as a component of the corporate culture of the academic community of a higher education institution; ensuring the quality of higher education at the European, national and higher education institution levels; specifics of the accreditation process and the role of stakeholders in ensuring the quality of higher education. Ability (UM): to organize one's own professional and pedagogical activities in compliance with academic integrity; to implement research activities based on the culture of academic integrity; use the rights and obligations of the student of education as a stakeholder in the process of accreditation of educational programs implemented at the Lviv Polytechnic; participate in the selection of independent (external) experts of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education. Communication (COM): free communication on issues related to the field of scientific and expert knowledge with colleagues, the wider scientific community, and society as a whole; use of academic Ukrainian and foreign languages in professional activity and research; application of modern information and communication tools and technologies to ensure effective scientific and professional communications. Autonomy and responsibility (AiV): demonstration of significant authority, innovativeness, a high degree of independence, academic and professional integrity, constant commitment to developing new ideas or processes in advanced contexts of professional and scientific activity; the ability for continuous self-development and self-improvement.

Summary of the subject: In the process of studying the discipline "Academic integrity and quality of education" the issues of theory and practice of academic integrity are considered: basic concepts and categories; regulatory framework; features of academic integrity culture in foreign and domestic experience; the role and significance of academic integrity in higher education quality assurance. The problem of academic integrity in the educational dimension is investigated: the main forms of academic integrity violation in the educational process; development and implementation of modern teaching methods, practices of revision and adaptation of academic disciplines syllabi that ensure the observance of academic integrity in the higher education system of Ukraine. The problem of academic integrity in scientific activity, which provides acquaintance of students with the Code of Corporate Culture of Lviv Polytechnic National University is considered; the main forms of academic integrity violation in scientific activity, the concept of “Copyright”; features of intellectual property use. The connection between academic integrity and quality assurance in education is substantiated, in particular through the analysis of European and national standards and recommendations for quality assurance in higher education, as well as their goals and principles; standards and recommendations for internal and external quality assurance; structures for developing the education content; types of educational syllabi. The issue of educational programs accreditation as a tool for external quality assurance of education and its organization by The National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in accordance with the defined powers and tasks, as well as the participation of stakeholders in the accreditation procedure is considered.

The main forms of violation of academic integrity in the educational process. Development and implementation of modern teaching methods, practices of revision and adaptation of work programs of educational disciplines, which will ensure compliance with academic integrity in the system of higher education of Ukraine. Topic 3. Academic integrity: scientific dimension. Code of the corporate culture of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The main forms of violation of academic integrity in scientific activity. Copyright. Peculiarities of using intellectual property objects. Topic 4. European and national standards and recommendations for quality assurance in higher education. Context, scope, goals and principles of European standards and recommendations for quality assurance in higher education. Standards and recommendations for internal and external quality assurance. Structure of educational content development: regulatory documents. Types of educational programs and characteristics of their components as a system of educational components. Topic 5. The internal system of ensuring the quality of education of the Lviv Polytechnic National University. Regulatory and legal assurance of the quality of higher education. Topic 6. Accreditation of educational programs as a tool for external assurance of the quality of education. The authority structure and areas of activity of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education. The essence, purpose and task of accreditation of educational programs. Organization of the accreditation process. Accreditation of educational programs by foreign accreditation agencies and independent higher education assessment and quality assurance institutions. Topic 7. Participation of stakeholders in the accreditation of educational programs. Expert in the accreditation of educational programs: selection procedure, training, and certification. Rights, duties and responsibilities of experts conducting accreditation examination at the Higher Education Institution. Organizational aspects of the work of an expert on accreditation of educational programs.
Assessment methods and criteria: The current control at practical classes is carried out in order to identify the readiness of post-graduate students of Doctor of Philosophy level in the following forms: Selective oral questioning at the beginning of the lesson; Frontal standardized questioning according to cards, tests for 5-10 minutes; Individual control of practical work; Assessment of post-graduate students’ activity during classes, their suggestions, original solutions, clarifications and definitions, additions to previous answers, etc. Control questions are divided into: Test tasks - choose the correct answers; Problem-solving tasks - creating situations of a problematic nature; Replica questions - identify cause-and-effect relationships; Situational tasks - to determine the answer according to a certain situation; Issues of a reproductive nature - determining the practical significance; Interactive quiz and game tasks. The final control is carried out based on the results of current control and control work.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Currently, the academic integrity of students and scientific and pedagogical workers is one of the key factors in ensuring the quality of education, its sustainable development and further improvement. The formation of academic integrity is based on the understanding by the academic community of the institution of higher education of its rights and freedoms in a complex combination with obligations and responsibilities. The educational discipline "Academic Integrity and Quality of Education" covers the classroom and extracurricular work of those seeking education at the third educational and scientific level of the Doctor of Philosophy. Part of the educational material is given for independent study. Independent work involves the processing of scientific sources, lecture material, the performance of practical and test tasks, an individual research task, and work in a virtual learning environment. Credit (differentiated credit) is a form of final control, which consists in assessing the assimilation of the post-graduate student of educational material in the discipline in total for all types of work provided by the syllabus of the discipline: Fulfilment of training test tasks on the topic of each lecture. Fulfillment of one test is assessed in 5 points automatically in the VEE. The deadline for the test is two weeks after the lecture. A total of 7 tests – the maximum amount of points – 35. Performing practical work on each topic. The performance of each practical work is assessed in 5 points. The deadline for practical work on each topic is two weeks after the practical class. Total 7 practical works – the maximum sum of points – 35. Practical works are carried out by the postgraduate students according to methodical recommendations and are assessed by the teacher according to the following criteria: the presence of a graduate student in a practical class and participation in the discussion of theoretical issues – 1 point; argumentation of the prepared practical work during its defense – 3 points; registration of the performed practical work according to the established requirements and observance of terms of its delivery in VLE - 1 point. Control work is assessed at 30 points.
