Мета вивчення дисципліни: Formation of graduate students' theoretical and practical knowledge about various methods of social and historical knowledge. The principles of building scientific theories are considered. Some attention is paid to historical hermeneutics, the use of quantitative methods in historical research, as well as cliometrics as a scientific direction, the analysis of cross-cultural correlations in modern historical anthropology. the methodology of field and chamber studies in archeology as a field of knowledge necessary in professional activity
Завдання: Popularization and presentation skills. Initiation and implementation of scientific research, the result of which is the acquisition of new knowledge. The ability to form ideas, theories, hypotheses and concepts in historical and archaeological research. The ability to present information obtained during research to a target and general audience; critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new ideas. Carry out operations with archaeological sources. Critically assimilate historiographical information. Process archaeological materials and prepare them for transfer to funds. Carry out primary camera processing of the material. Determine the information value of the source. Mastering the skills and methods of field research; acquiring the skills of modeling, designing, forecasting the expected results of research.
Learning outcomes: 1. Ability to demonstrate systematic knowledge of modern research methods in the field of history and archeology; 2. Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the chosen field of research; 3. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of historical processes and ethnocultural processes in archeology in a social and societal context. 4. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the legal framework defined by domestic and international legislation on history and archeology. 5. Be able to search, analyze, compare and critically evaluate information from different sources; 2. Ability to write a research paper, understanding the sequence of work on the preparation of research; 3. Ability to adapt the results of research during the writing of the dissertation; 4. Be able to use professional knowledge in the field of history and archeology to process research results.

Summary of the subject: The training course "Modern methods of research in the field of history and archeology" allows you to analyze the epistemological foundations and philosophical contexts of modern directions and methods of historical research

Features of the application of complex research at the turn of archaeological geophysics, comparative soil science and geomorphology. 4. Methods of collecting comparative historical material through surveys

Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge; quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluative judgments and theoretical conclusions.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
