Мета вивчення дисципліни: To acquaint the postgraduate students with the methodology and methods of applied research of historical sources, information support of research work, organization and stages of scientific research, basic requirements for the design of scientific results, to form the ability to apply them in practical activity; methodologically and methodically and effectively organize research activities.
Завдання: The study of the discipline involves the formation of the necessary competences for students: - General competences: ZK1. Flexibility of thinking. Mastering the skills of analytical and experimental scientific activity; Organization, planning and forecasting of research results. Generation of new ideas (creativity), abstract thinking, ability to adapt to new conditions and situations. ZK6. Ethical settings. Awareness and understanding of philosophical and philosophical foundations, current trends, directions and patterns of development of domestic science in the conditions of globalization and multiculturalism. Knowledge of standards and type of thinking necessary for scientific research and publication activity, including critical awareness and intellectual honesty. Understanding the importance of historical and archeological research in the context of modern methodological approaches and concepts of cultural memory, reconciliation, social dialogue and European integration. ZK7. Application of modern information and communication technologies, including methods of obtaining, processing and storing scientific information. - professional competences: FC5. The ability to analyze, evaluate and compare various paradigms, theories, concepts and approaches from the subject sphere of scientific research, the ability to draw appropriate conclusions, formulate proposals and recommendations. FC6. The use of original scientific research on history and archeology at a high professional level, achievement of scientific results that create new knowledge, with an emphasis on topical national problems using the latest methods of scientific search.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: Knowledge: • Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the chosen field of research; • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of historical processes and ethnocultural processes in archeology in a social and societal context. • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework defined by domestic and international legislation on history and archeology; Skills: • Search, analyze, compare and critically evaluate information from various sources; • Ability to write a research paper, understanding the sequence of work on the preparation of research; • Ability to adapt the results of research during the writing of the dissertation; • Be able to use professional knowledge in the field of history and archeology to process research results

Summary of the subject: The training course "Applied Methods of Research of Historical Sources" is intended for the training of specialists of the educational and qualification level "Doctor of Philosophy" of the direction of preparation 032 "History and Archeology". In the system of preparation of doctors of philosophy, this course occupies an important place, since it forms in graduate students knowledge and ability to properly and effectively organize scientific and educational research work; use the knowledge gained to perform and protect the PhD theses; apply scientific approaches to the formation and justification of effective strategies in the field of applied research in the field of history and archeology; Critically, systematically think and apply creative abilities to generating new research ideas. The questions about the methodology and applied methods of conducting historical research, involvement in the research work of the young generation of scientists are considered, modern approaches to the source provision of applied methods of research of historical sources, in particular to the classification of sources as one of the productive research methods; theoretical and applied aspects of the scientific way of knowing the historical source; methodology of external and internal criticism of the source, its analysis, analysis and evaluation; methods of effective systematization of research material; choice of effective methods and techniques of studying historical sources; Establishment of the entire amount of scientific facts that belong to the topic of research, identify the facts that are lacking for the completeness of historical research.
Опис: The concept of historical source. Classification and periodization of historical sources. The main complexes of historical sources. Research principles and methods of historical science. Fundamentals of methodology of historical source studies. Organization of applied researches of historical sources. Knowledge of sources critic . Methods of knowledge of sources analysis. The choice of direction and sequence of applied research of historical sources.
Assessment methods and criteria: lectures, seminars, independent work; group work, presentations, etc. lectures, seminars, independent work; group work, presentations, etc. Evaluation rating on a 100-point system: current control - 40 points; Final control - 60 points (written exam).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge; quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluative judgments and theoretical conclusions.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
