Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the discipline is to master the basics of the typology of residential buildings, to acquaint students with the methodology of housing design, and, using the example of various options of single-family and multi-apartment residential buildings, to teach, to think systematically and competently design one or another type of residential building, to decide on its planning organization.

Summary of the subject: The main purpose of the course is to give general concepts about the main types and features of each of the types of residential buildings; basics of classification of residential buildings, basic principles of their design, factors influencing the formation of housing, basic regulatory and technical data. Influence of climatology, architectural lighting and acoustics, requirements of sanitary hygiene and safety on the architecture of residential buildings, determination of quantitative and qualitative parameters of residential buildings that meet modern requirements. Опис: The content of the discipline "Architectural design of residential buildings" highlights the basics of the classification of residential buildings, the main principles of their design, basic regulatory and technical data, features of the use of architectural composition and graphics in the design of single-family and multi-apartment residential buildings. The program involves mastering the theoretical foundations of the typology of residential buildings, the regulatory framework for their design; development of optimal options for planning solutions for single-family and multi-apartment residential buildings in accordance with the task.

Summary of the subject: A single-family house project is one of the first architectural projects a student undertakes, where he or she acquires the ability to design independently and take a comprehensive approach to solving architectural problems, analyse and take into account the entirety of the initial data (site conditions, planning restrictions, current design standards and rules, functional, stylistic and aesthetic requirements) and learns to find architectural and planning solutions that would ensure the best way for the object to function. In this project, the student gets acquainted with the peculiarities of the residential function and the means of functional and spatial organisation of the building and its surroundings. In the process of designing, the student should feel the connection between the planning and volumetric-spatial structure of the building and the external environment based on the study of the processes of family life.

Summary of the subject: In the process of architectural design of a single-family house, the student gets acquainted with the foundations of the formation and requirements for architectural design of architectural-planning and volume-spatial solutions of low-rise housing, modern conditions, requirements and features of designing an individual residential building. The result of the study is an architectural project of a single-family house and its territory with the volume of 4 sheets of A2 format; submission technique – digital or author's graphics.
