Required prior and related subjects: Space monitoring
Summary of the subject: General information on geotectonics. Definition, object and subject of geotectonics. Geotectonics and geodynamics. The role of geotectonics in Earth sciences. Deep structure of the Earth. Methods of studying the earth's depths - by exits of deep rocks, according to data of deep drilling, geophysical and seismic tomography as the main method, cosmogeological, experimental geotectonics. Seismic model of the Earth and its main geospheres and their boundaries: Earth's crust and its main types and subtypes, Mohorovichich surface, lithosphere, asthenosphere, tectonosphere, mantle, outer and inner nucleus.
Tectonic movements and methods of their study. Concepts of tectonic movements, principles of their classification - by sign, scale, speed, intensity, duration, orientation and repeatability (oscillatory nature), causes (endogenous and exogenous) and results (structure-forming and reversible), age (modern, neotectonic) .
Basic geotectonic structures of the tectonosphere.
Main geohistoric stages of tectonosphere and lithosphere development.
Geotectonic hypotheses.
Assessment methods and criteria: written reports by laboratory work, oral examination (38%);
final control (50 %, control measure, exam, oral form - 12%).
