Learning outcomes: - To know the history of the theoretical and methodological principles categories of the subject of social and demographic statistics and its place in the sciences that study population in its various aspects;
- Know the theoretical aspects and empirical substantiation of the main problems of the sphere of knowledge;
- Know the general trends of the population, the driving force of this process, the main principles of formation of different types of human reproduction;
- The achievement and development of modern demography in Ukraine and abroad.
- Be able to explain the essence of the processes occurring in the population, reveal the mechanism of the relationship of social and economic development, on the one hand and changes in the intensity of demographic processes and demographic transformation of structures - on the other;
- Be able to adequately explain the patterns of human reproduction on the qualitative and quantitative level, taking into account regional differences within Ukraine;
- Be able to exploring the impact of specific features of the "new" to be able to describe patterns of demographic processes in the future;
- Applying technology to be able to collect, analyze and synthesis of empirical data to develop and refine approaches and methodological tools needed to streamline and systematize demographic events in all their diversity and complexity.

Summary of the subject: Social and demographic statistics is a discipline about the essence and regularities of population reproduction in the socio-economic conditions of this process, in particular, understanding the specifics and interrelationships of the demographic processes of birth, mortality, marriage, divorce, etc., knowledge of the regularities of the formation and dynamics of migration processes, the study of the modern demographic state Ukrainian and global trends in demographic processes, familiarization with the main methods of demographic research and their application in modern management of socio-economic processes; revealing the ways of using the acquired knowledge to solve the problems of social development.
Опис: Theoretical foundations of demographic statistics. Sources of information about population and demographic processes. Number and demographic structure of the population: their dynamics. Quantitative analysis and measurement of demographic processes and structures. Reproduction of the population as a unity of demographic processes. Statistical study of marriage and divorce. Statistical study of fertility and reproductive behavior. Statistical study of population mortality. Statistical analysis of migration processes. Socio-demographic forecasting. Demographic policy in the era of depopulation. Theoretical and methodological foundations of social statistics. Society as an object of social statistics. Statistics of the standard of living of the population: income and expenses. Statistics of housing and communal services, trade, everyday life and transport. Statistics of services of the health care system and medical care of the population. Statistics of education and science. Statistics of culture, art and recreation. Environmental statistics. Statistics on security and respect for human rights. Statistics of the system of social protection of the population. Public opinion statistics. Simulation modeling of population size and composition.
Assessment methods and criteria: The evaluation of the students of education in the discipline "Social and demographic statistics in social work" is carried out with the help of means of objective control of the degree of achievement of learning results.
1. The evaluation is carried out on the basis of the assessment of the level of competences achieved and the results of the bachelor's studies in the specialty "Social Security", using the methods of complex diagnostics: the semester control (SC) of the knowledge of the students is carried out based on the total number of points obtained according to the results of the current control (PC), and execution of the control measure (KZ).
2. The information base, on the basis of which the means of objective control of the degree of achievement of learning results are formed, is its subject matter, tasks for practical and individual works, a list of literature and methodical recommendations.
3. Assessment of the level of achievement of learning outcomes is carried out after the education seekers complete the work program in its entirety.

Lectures, practical classes: information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, problem statement method, visual-visual methods (Oral and written surveys, discussion of problematic issues, analysis of reports, essays, presentations, essays). ? Independent work: reproductive method, research method, verbal method.

Knowledge assessment methods: oral and frontal survey; written survey; selective oral survey; speeches at seminars; tests; protection of practical works; assessment of activity; evaluation of submitted proposals, original solutions, clarifications and definitions; etc. Exam - written survey, test control.

- approaches to solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study;
- the quality of solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study;
- disclosure of cause-and-effect relationships between phenomena and processes during the solution of the situation proposed in the exercise or case.

– correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge;
- the ability to argue one's own judgments and conclusions during a scientific discussion.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
