Мета вивчення дисципліни: formation of practical abilities and skills of verbal and non-verbal communication and preparation of future specialists for conducting the initial, middle and final phases of interviewing with various groups of clients
Завдання: • a formed idea about the peculiarities of interpersonal communication, its structure, components, functions, principles and tasks; • knowledge of key areas of the theory of personality development; • a formed idea about the peculiarities of verbal and non-verbal communication; • formed an idea about the practical application of knowledge from the theory of self-regulation both to harmonize one's internal state and the emotional state of the interlocutor • mastering skills in the practical application of various techniques and procedures in the counseling process
Learning outcomes: Identify, formulate and solve tasks in the field of social work, integrate theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Use relevant scientific research and apply research professional skills in the course provision of social assistance. Independently determine those circumstances, in the clarification of which need social assistance. Identify ethical dilemmas and contradictions in professional activity and use means supervision for their solution.

Summary of the subject: The course "Interpersonal Communication" is aimed at developing students' practical skills in verbal and non-verbal communication and preparing future professionals to conduct client interviews
Опис: The concept of communication and its components. The role of cognition of personality in the process of communication Personality in the context of family and social system. Nonverbal communication. Communication skills. The concept of the interview and its functions. Interviewing styles and strategies. Formation of skills of interpersonal influence. Emotional thinking and communication. The client is an active and full participant in the process of change. Assisting clients in disclosing circumstances that force them to seek help. Determining goals in work with individuals, customer groups and families. The role and place of the social worker in the process of change and spiritual growth of the client. Helping clients at different stages of readiness for change. Counseling procedures and techniques. Initial, middle and final stages of work with clients. Burnout syndrome in the professional activities of a consultant.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control: (40%): recitation, speeches during practical classes. • Final control: (60%):test (tests).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: report (quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); level of meaningfulness of knowledge – the ability to formulate independent evaluative judgments and theoretical conclusions) - 3 points ; presentation (correspondence to the topic of the practical session; aesthetic design of the presentation; clear, concise report; ability to answer clarifying questions; references to sources) - 5 points. individual control task (structure; quality of information sources and their correspondence to the content of the work; level of independence and depth of meaningfulness; level of familiarity with theoretical material, terminology and concepts; ability to analyze, compare, classify and summarize material; aesthetic design of the presentation; clear, concise report; ability to answer clarifying questions) 10 points.
