• Ability to identify, social inspect and assess the needs of vulnerable categories of citizens, including those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances (FC5).
• Ability to provide assistance and support to clients, taking into account their individual needs, age differences, gender, ethnic and other characteristics (FC11)
• Ability to contribute to the improvement of well-being and social protection of individuals, to provide social assistance and support to those who are in difficult life situations (FC20).
Learning outcomes: -Search, analyze and synthesize information from various sources to solve professional and establish causal links between social events and phenomena.
- Identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of social work, integrate theoretical knowledge and practical experience
- Use methods of social diagnostics in the process of assessing the problems, needs, specifics and resources of clients
- Identify ethical dilemmas and contradictions in professional activities and use means of supervision to resolve them

Summary of the subject: The course "Social work with persons with disabilities" involves an analysis of the interdisciplinary field of knowledge, a synthesis of existing approaches, concepts and theories. This course examines the theoretical and practical aspects of disability in social work.Introduces students to the conceptual apparatus, develops the skills of correct speech, the ability to work with people with disabilities, apply the principles of universal design and inclusion.
Опис: Conceptual apparatus, main approaches and models of disability. UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Social factors of disability. Congenital and acquired disability. Children's disability. Identifying the needs and problems of a person with a disability. Psychology of disability. Accessibility of the environment and architectural barriers. Planning a barrier-free environment. Adaptive equipment of public and residential premises Work capacity and employment. Jobs for people with disabilities. Medical, sanatorium, recreational programs for persons with disabilities in Ukraine State policy in the field of disabilities. Legislative regulation of social protection of persons with disabilities in Ukraine. The role of non-governmental organizations in lobbying the interests of persons with disabilities. Social services for physical rehabilitation. Forms of rehabilitation activities. Rehabilitation centers and rehabilitation camps. Institutionalization and community life. The principle of integration. Early intervention. Inclusive education.
Assessment methods and criteria: •oral interviews, participation in discussions and interactive exercises, presentation of the study project (40%)
•final control test, written form (60%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: report (quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); level of meaningfulness of knowledge – the ability to formulate independent evaluative judgments and theoretical conclusions) - 3 points ;
presentation (correspondence to the topic of the practical session; aesthetic design of the presentation; clear, concise report; ability to answer clarifying questions; references to sources) - 5 points.
individual control task (structure; quality of information sources and their correspondence to the content of the work; level of independence and depth of meaningfulness; level of familiarity with theoretical material, terminology and concepts; ability to analyze, compare, classify and summarize material; aesthetic design of the presentation; clear, concise report; ability to answer clarifying questions) 10 points.
