Мета вивчення дисципліни: The goals of the study: the goals of the study in Philosophy is to acquaint students with ideas and original texts of famous representatives of philosophy; to orient the students regarding actual problems of contemporary philosophy; to teach students how to use philosophical analysis in order to resolve the problem of a human being and science; to demonstrate the deep similarity between philosophy, science and arts.
Завдання: General Competencies: ZK 1. The ability to realize one's rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to realize the values ??of civil (democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen in Ukraine. ZK 2. The ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values ??and multiply the achievements of society based on an understanding of the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, technology and technology, use different types and forms of motor activity for active recreation and leading a healthy lifestyle. ZK 4. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations ZK 10. Ability to conduct research at the appropriate level. ZK12. The ability to make decisions and act in accordance with the principle of inadmissibility of corruption and any other manifestations of dishonesty. ZK 15. The ability to act socially responsibly and consciously.
Learning outcomes: PRN 1. To know their rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to understand the values of civil society, the rule of law, human and civil rights, and freedoms in Ukraine. PRN 2. Preserve moral, cultural, scientific values and increase the achievements of society, use different types and forms of physical activity to lead a healthy lifestyle. PRN 13. Communicate orally and in writing in state and foreign languages. PRN 16. Demonstrate skills of independent work, flexible thinking, openness to new knowledge, be critical and self-critical. PRN 26. To know the basics of prevention of corruption, social and academic integrity at the level necessary for the formation of intolerance to corruption and manifestations of dishonest behavior among students and be able to apply them in professional activities.

Summary of the subject: The course "Philosophy" is a basic regulatory discipline for most majors of Lviv Polytechnic University. It is of leading importance in the structural and logical scheme of the educational and professional program of training specialists of various fields and specialties. The content, teaching methods, independent work, forms of intermediate and final control should ensure the effective performance of the tasks of forming students' understanding of the prerequisites and specifics of the existence of a philosophical paradigm, students' awareness of the place of philosophy in human culture and their lives in particular. The content of the program is aimed at studying the history of philosophical searches and the discovery of the ultimate landmarks of human existence, the gradual historical formation of the culture of human thinking, the forms and levels of human cognitive activity, an in-depth understanding of existence, history and culture, fundamental dimensions and values ??of human existence. The program is aimed at ensuring the academic training of students.

Assessment methods and criteria: oral survey at seminar classes; • assessment of the quality of knowledge during discussions according to the seminar plans; • listening to fixed reports at seminar classes; • protection of the essay; • assessment of completed individual tasks (tasks, exercises, tests); • assessment of performance of intermediate test tasks; • written dictations on theory; • presentations and visualizations; • conducting a final exam consisting of a written and an oral component

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: The “excellent” grade (88-100 points) corresponds to a comprehensive systematic and deep knowledge of the curriculum; assimilation of information from the lecture course, basic and additional literature; clear mastery of the conceptual apparatus, methods and tools provided by the programme; the ability to use them correctly to solve both typical and atypical problem situations; The “good” grade (71-87 points) corresponds to the knowledge of the main curriculum; assimilation of information from the lecture course; possession of the basic conceptual apparatus, methods and tools provided by the programme; the ability to use them correctly to solve typical situations, making certain mistakes; The “satisfactory” grade (50-70 points) corresponds to lack of knowledge of the main curriculum; mastery of certain concepts, methods and tools, making significant mistakes when using them. The “unsatisfactory” grade (0-49 points) assumes that the student does not understand the essence of the questions and does not know the basic concepts of the course.
