Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of this course is to teach students the most important provisions and theoretical schemes of quantitative and qualitative analysis in social work, to familiarize students with the theoretical and methodological aspects of quantitative and qualitative social research, schemes of interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data. This course also provides for the development of practical skills in developing a program and creating tools for quantitative and qualitative social research and collecting data using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Завдання: Ability to prepare reports on pension, social assistance and social insurance pensions, social assistance and social insurance; Ability to take into account the interests of society, taking responsibility for the impact of the company's activities on consumers, stakeholders, employees, communities and the environment in all aspects of its activities; Ability to make and organize the implementation of decisions; Knowledge of the legal consequences of misuse of of social funds; Knowledge of methods of examination of qualitative differences social phenomena, processes and social structures in society; Ability to identify and meet human and social needs in the social sphere; Ability to manage the processes of assistance in community self-improvement through the organization of collective action; Knowledge of methods of analyzing social phenomena and processes, structures and features of social relations, groups, institutions of society; Knowledge of research methods and interpretation of the results obtained in planning and implementing social welfare activities; Ability to analyze labor resources and employment of the population; Knowledge of the basics of international social work, its directions and mechanisms.
Learning outcomes: Critically evaluate the results obtained, develop and defend reasonably decisions based on factual/empirical data of practice; Apply their knowledge and understanding to professional activities in the field of social security aimed at social and economic change; To provide objective professional information to central and local authorities, local governments, public government, local self-government, public organizations on social development issues, formation and evaluation of social security services and social policy.

Corequisites: Monitoring and evaluation of social projects. Examination of the quality of social change. Technologies of social security. Technologies of social security. Course work. Summary of the subject: The program of the course "Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis in Social Work" is designed for 18 lecture and 36 seminar hours. Practical classes should consolidate the theoretical knowledge of students, teach them to independently analyze and compare existing methods of collecting information in social science in quantitative and qualitative paradigms, since the awareness and qualified application of this knowledge is a guarantee of professional activity. The subject of the course is the process of collecting and analyzing social information. The main methodological principles of the course are: scientific, systematic, comprehensive, accessible, practical, logical, and visual. The logic of the course is based on the logic of deploying various qualitative research tactics. The course is studied for one semester. In order to fulfill the main tasks of the educational process, the problem-activity technology of studying the course is used. Practical classes are conducted with mandatory elements of current control, with elements of simulation role-playing games, analysis of specific situations, and solving practical problems.
Опис: Theoretical and methodological foundations of quantitative methods of social research. Overview of quantitative research methods. Programming and conducting content analysis of documents. Programming and conducting questionnaires and formalized interviews. Overview of methods of descriptive and analytical statistics. Quantitative vs. qualitative tradition in empirical sociology. Qualitative approach in sociological research: prerequisites, history of formation, theoretical origins. The place of qualitative research in the system of sociological knowledge. Individual interview in qualitative sociology. Group interviews in qualitative social research. Working with the text of the interview. The concept and types of qualitative analysis.
Assessment methods and criteria: • individual practical work; tasks on writing an empirical research program (40%) - final control (control measure, exam): written form (60%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Report (quality of knowledge - its completeness, depth, flexibility, consistency, strength; correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; culture of speech (literacy, logic and consistency of presentation); level of meaningfulness of knowledge - ability to formulate independent evaluative judgments and theoretical conclusions). Presentation (relevance to the topic of the practical lesson; aesthetic design of the presentation; clear, concise report; ability to answer clarifying questions; references to sources).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - ("excellent") is assigned for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literature sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena studied in their interconnection and development, clearly, concisely, logically, consistently answer the questions posed, the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 87-71 points - ("good") is assigned for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 70 - 50 points - ("satisfactory") is assigned for poor knowledge of the educational material of the component, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for poor application of theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the component's educational material, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the basic fundamental provisions.
