Summary of the subject: The essence of studying the discipline "Modern Communication Networks" involves students' assimilation of the content of the most important ideas and practices regarding modern communication networks, which consist of a finite set of social actors and a set of connections between them. At the same time, one social network can include social actors of various types, connected by interactions of various types and degrees of intensity, and by connections we mean not only communicative connections between actors, but also connections for the exchange of various resources and activities . In addition to the course "Modern communication networks", it introduces non-traditional for classical sociology ideas about the ways of communicative interaction, connections for the exchange of various resources and activities, including conflict relations. Communication networks are considered in the context of newer trends in sociology: theories of social, human and symbolic capital.
