Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the course is to learn the basic principles of designing chemical plants, the principles of choosing technical equipment, the principles of design, the analysis of the technical task and the methods of calculating machines and devices, the main parts of chemical devices, auxiliary equipment. And also: familiarization with special technical literature, teaching students the methodology of engineering skills, the principles of designing chemical plants.

Summary of the subject: Within the educational discipline "Principles of designing chemical plants, part 1", the main materials for the manufacture of chemical equipment, the main elements of the design of chemical plants, the analysis and development of the technical task, the design of heat exchange plants, column-type apparatus, drying equipment, the design of machinery and plants are considered to clean the atmosphere from pollution.
Опис: General information about the design of chemical plants. Main directions in the design of chemical equipment. Purpose and objectives of the course. Selection of metal materials for the manufacture of chemical apparatus depending on the working environment. Selection of non-metallic materials for the manufacture of chemical apparatus depending on the working environment. Selection of the protective coating of chemical devices depending on the working environment. Customs and bottoms. Basic connections and details of chemical apparatus. Flange connections and gaskets, parts for fastening. Supports of chemical apparatuses. Design of first-stage gas purification devices. Dust deposition chambers, inertial dust collectors. Design of first-stage gas purification devices. Vortex and dynamic dust collectors. Cyclones. Design of devices of the second stage of gas purification. Fabric filters. Design of devices of the second stage of gas purification. Electrofilters. Design of heat exchange installations. Technological and thermal calculations Design of heat exchange installations. Assessment methods and criteria: The main methods of knowledge diagnosis are: current (PC) and semester control (SC), which is carried out from educational material, the scope of which is determined by the work program of the discipline for the semester. Current control is carried out during lectures and practical classes in order to check the level of assimilation of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of the student. PC is conducted in the form of: written and oral control and verification of completed practical work. Semester control is conducted in the form of an exam (EC). The exam is a form of SC of the results of the student's studies in the academic discipline for the semester.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
