Мета вивчення дисципліни: Formation of students' communicative competence, which is necessary for communication in English in familiar situations that occur in academic and general professional contexts.
Завдання: General competences: • Ability to communicate in English. • Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. • Ability to search, process and summarize information from various sources. • Skills in using information and communication technologies. Professional competences: • Ability to demonstrate language and speech competence in the process of professional and interpersonal intercultural communication. • Ability to collect, analyze and systematize language facts, interpret and translate English texts. • Ability to analyze the object of design or operation and its subject area. • Ability to design, develop and use means of implementing information systems, technologies and information communications. • Ability to conduct computational experiments, compare the results of experimental data and obtained solutions.
Learning outcomes: Apply knowledge of fundamental and natural sciences, system analysis and modeling technologies, standard algorithms and discrete analysis when solving problems of designing and using information systems and technologies

Summary of the subject: The course of the academic discipline "English technical language" has a practical direction, providing students with the opportunity to acquire general professional communicative competence in using the English language. As a result of successful study following the program of this course, the level of language proficiency is expected to increase to B1+, which is transitional between the borderline and advanced levels of an independent language user. The program of the "English technical language" course takes into account modern trends in language learning and teaching. It is aimed at the development and improvement of foreign language skills and abilities such as: listening, dialogic speech, monologue speech, reading, written speech, academic oral speech, academic written speech.

Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment of language skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing). Discussions and questioning take place during practical classes. Testing of lexical-grammatical material in the VLE. The final test consists of both a written test and a discussion.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Continuous assessment - 40 points. Final test - 60 points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
