Learning outcomes: • to demonstrate knowledge of the concept, features and classifications of international information relations; • to demonstrate knowledge of tendencies of modern information society development, caused by innovative applied technologies; • to demonstrate knowledge of principles of work and general characteristics of international information systems and technologies; • to demonstrate knowledge of the types of legal problems in the sphere of social networks and approaches to their solution; • to demonstrate the ability to reveal general trends of international relations with the usage of information technologies and predict the development of events on the international arena; • to demonstrate the ability to conduct methodologically correct researches of facts and processes on the international arena integrating knowledge from different spheres of the society; • to demonstrate the ability to determine the rules of law which govern the relations between social networks and their users.

Summary of the subject: The concept, types and features of social networks. Civil-law nature of social networks. Approaches to the legal regulation of relations on the Internet. Different jurisdictions and law of social networks. Corporate rules of social networks. Defamation and social networks. The problem of respect for intellectual property rights in social networks. Social networks as “terra incognita” for modern jurisprudence.
Assessment methods and criteria: • formative assessment: oral questioning, written questioning, individual home assignments preparation (40%); • summative assessment: examination in written form (60%).
