Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of competences in students of education:
general competences:
The ability to solve complex specialised problems and solve practical problems in the field of applied mechanics or in the process of study, which involves the application of certain theories and methods of mechanical engineering and is characterised by complexity and uncertainty of conditions (INT)
general competences:
- knowledge and understanding of the subject area, understanding of professional activities (GC2);
- determination and perseverance in relation to the tasks and responsibilities (GC6);
- ability to learn and master modern knowledge (GC7);
- skills to carry out safe activities (GC10);
- ability to search, process and analyse information from various sources (GC12);
- ability to evaluate and ensure the quality of work performed (GC13).
professional competences:
- ability to analyse materials, structures and processes based on the laws, theories and methods of mathematics and natural sciences, including applied mechanics (PC1);
- the ability to assess the performance parameters of materials, structures and machines in operating conditions and find appropriate solutions to ensure a given level of reliability of structures and processes, including in the presence of certain uncertainty (PC2);
- ability to carry out technological and technical and economic assessment of the effectiveness of the use of new technologies and technical means (PC3);
- ability to make an optimal choice of technological equipment, complete set of technical complexes, have a basic understanding of the rules of their operation (PC4);
- the ability to use analytical, statistical and numerical mathematical methods to solve problems of applied mechanics, in particular to carry out calculations for strength, endurance, stability, durability, stiffness in the process of static and dynamic loading in order to assess the reliability and predict the life of machine parts and structures (PC5);
- ability to present the results of their engineering activities in compliance with generally accepted norms and standards (PC9);
- the ability to describe and classify a wide range of technical objects and processes based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of basic mechanical theories and practices, as well as basic knowledge of related sciences (PC10).
Learning outcomes: To use knowledge of the theoretical foundations of mechanics of solids, liquids and gases, heat engineering, electronics and electrical engineering to solve professional problems (UN2)
To know the design, methods of selection and calculation, basics of maintenance and operation of drives of machine tools, welding and robotic equipment (LO10)
Evaluate the technical and economic efficiency of production (LO 13)
To make an optimal choice of basic technological equipment and complete technical complexes (LO 14)

Summary of the subject: While studying this educational discipline, the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge of the basics of welding technologies, their technological support (equipment, materials). At the same time, the fields of their application are studied from the point of view of the characteristics of the welded materials of the products and the requirements for their operation. The ability to reasonably choose a special welding method and give recommendations for its implementation.
Опис: Welding: basic concepts and essence. Classification and brief characteristics of the main welding methods.
Welded joints and seams. Preparation and assembly of parts for welding. Defects of welded joints.
Crack resistance of welded joints and weldability of steels.
Technological methods of combating deformations and stresses during welding.
Manual arc welding with coated metal electrodes
Arc welding under a layer of flux
Arc welding in shielding gases with fusible electrodes: powder and continuous section
Arc welding with non-fusible electrodes
Electroslag welding
Technological ways of increasing the productivity of arc welding
The influence of arc welding parameters on the shape of the weld

Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods:
1. Current express control by means of a virtual learning environment or oral survey, tests, assessment of activity and submitted proposals.
2. Defense of reports for laboratory work by oral examination of theoretical material on the topic of the work and research methodology.
3. Conducting a written exam based on the results of studying the discipline, which consists of tasks of various levels of difficulty.
4. Carrying out the oral component based on the results of the written exam, the questions of which are based on the content of practical tasks.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (PC): Protection of reports for laboratory work by oral examination of theoretical material on the topic of the work and research methodology, current express control by means of a virtual learning environment (40 points)
Examination control: written component (50 points), oral component (10 points)
Total for the discipline: 100 points
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their relationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) is given for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
