Summary of the subject: The main tasks of studying the discipline are to acquaint students with the types of railway rolling stock used for the transportation of goods and passengers on railway transport. Study of the upper and lower structure of the railway track, the structure of artificial structures, the organization of track repairs, the basics of track management and the peculiarities of the arrangement of the running parts of the rolling stock. Issues of track condition monitoring, snow retention and organization of snow removal on railway tracks are also being studied.

Classification and designation of wagons.
Diesel locomotives. General structure. Location of equipment. Purpose and types of power transmissions.
Traction and technical and economic characteristics of locomotives.
Electromotive composition of alternating current. Traction transformers. Current rectifiers. Speed control.
The main types and elements of engineering structures and buildings on railways.
The current state of the transport infrastructure of Ukraine. Railway track, upper and lower structure. Its main elements.
Rails, purpose, design, their service life and ways to extend their service life.
Construction of wooden and reinforced concrete sleepers.
Intermediate and buttock fasteners, their design
Ballast. Purpose and requirements for it. Ballast prism construction. Track hijacking and the fight against it. Design of seamless track. Types of superstructure. Selection of the VBK design.
Classification of connections and track intersection. Conventional arrow gear, arrow design.
The construction of the cross, under-rail base.
Calculation of turnouts. Calculation of individual elements of translation, design of translation outline.
Symmetrical turn signals. Deaf intersections, cross translations.

Calculations of the main geometric and axial dimensions of the turnout. Drawing of a conventional turn signal.

Calculation of the size of the "window" of major track repair.

Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods:
1. Protection of reports for practical works by conducting an oral survey on the subject of the work.
2. Conducting a written exam based on the results of studying the discipline, which consists of three-level theoretical and practical tasks.
3. Conducting the oral component based on the results of the written exam, the questions of which are based on the content of lectures and practical classes.

Summary of the subject: Within the scope of this course, students study practical methods of choosing the structure of the track superstructure, calculation and design of a single turnout, calculation of the duration of the window during track overhaul and design of snow removal measures at the railway station.

Determining the duration of the window for overhaul of the track.
Designing snow removal activities at the station.
Assessment methods and criteria: Defense of the course project completed according to the task (100%).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Drawing up an explanatory note to the course project - 20 points.
The correctness of the performed calculations and the graphic part according to the task - 40 points.
Oral component during the course project defense – 40 points.
