Завдання: The study of this course is aimed at performing and developing such students' competencies:
General:
- GC-6 – Ability to conduct research at the appropriate level;
Special:
- SC-1 – Ability to analyze and forecast the parameters and indicators of the functioning of transport systems and technologies, taking into account the influence of the external environment;
- SC-8 – Ability to design transport (transport-production, transport-warehousing) systems and their partial elements;
- SC-14 – Ability to use modern information technologies, automated control systems, and geo-information systems when organizing the transportation process.
Learning outcomes: PSR-2 – Critically evaluate the scientific values and achievements of society in the development of transport technologies;
PSR 6 – Research transport processes, experiment, analyze, and evaluate the parameters of transport systems and technologies.
PSR-11 – Classify and identify transport processes and systems. Evaluate parameters of transport systems. To carry out system analysis and forecasting of the operation of transport systems.
PSR-15 – Evaluate the parameters of traffic flows. Design schemes and networks of transport systems. Develop technologies for operational management of traffic flows.
PSR-16 – Choose effective technologies for the interaction of transport modes. Analyze the possibilities of using various options for the interaction of transport modes.
PSR-18 – Research species and types of transport systems. Find solutions for optimizing the parameters of transport systems. To evaluate the efficiency of the infrastructure and the technology of the functioning of transport systems.
PSR-20 – Investigate the components of ergonomics of transport technologies. Establish their efficiency and reliability.

Summary of the subject: The study of the course "Research of operations in transport systems" is aimed at forming students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the formalization of management tasks using specialized optimization methods in relation to the transport process in railway transport. Within the framework of this course, the main types of problems faced by specialists in the field of transportation organization and management in railway transport are considered in their work, and optimal methods of solving them are also proposed.

Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods:
1. Control and verification of practical and laboratory works (in writing form).
2. Defense of practical and laboratory works in oral form and survey on the topic of the work.
3. Written exam based on the results of studying the course, consisting of three-level theoretical and practical tasks.
4. Oral component based on the results of the written exam, the questions of which are based on the content of practical tasks.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: • elaboration and defence of practical works (25%)
• elaboration and defence of laboratory works (20%)
• examination control (55%) in written (50%) and oral (5%) forms
