Summary of the subject: The main tasks of studying the discipline are to acquaint students with the main regulatory documents that determine the conditions of traffic safety: PTE, IRP, 1C, regulatory acts on traffic safety and their content. Study of the rules of technical operation of railways, the main sections and their interpretation. Within the scope of the course, the procedure for informing about railway events, the procedure for investigating transport events, guard signals, manual signals and other signals used in railway transport are studied. Issues of the order of movement and peculiarities of dispatching trains when performing work on railway tracks and structures and methods of preventive work to ensure the safety of traffic on railway transport are also studied.

The order of movement and features of dispatching trains when performing work on railway tracks and structures.
Norms and basic rules for securing rolling stock with brake shoes and hand brakes.
Regulations on reconstruction trains.
The order of classification of transport events in train and shunting work on the railways of Ukraine.
Analysis of traffic safety on railways of Ukraine.
Procedure for investigation of transport incidents.
Preventive work to ensure the safety of train traffic

Investigation of the condition of the railway track in accordance with the regulatory documents on traffic safety.
Study of signals. Hand signals given at races. Hand signals given at stations. Sound signals. Permanent and temporary signal signs. Traffic lights
Studying the rules of guarding trains, places where track work is performed on the track. Development of schemes for the fencing of execution sites for specified track works on the track.
Studying the rules of fencing and developing schemes of places where track work is performed at the station. Procedure for issuing speed limit warnings.
Study of the technical condition of turnouts in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents. Assessment of the state of the switchgear according to the indicators of the field inspection and measurements. Establishing permissible traffic speeds on turnpikes that have malfunctions.
Studying the requirements of regulatory documents regarding the construction and maintenance of railway crossings. Development of a scheme for the arrangement of a railway crossing for given operating conditions.
Study of PTE requirements for self-coupling device. Checking the auto coupling with a combined template during a field inspection.
Study of the state of rolling stock in accordance with regulatory documents on traffic safety. Study of PTE requirements for wheel pairs. Detection of malfunctions of wheel pairs using templates during field inspection.
Investigation of transport incidents on railways of Ukraine. Study of the order of official investigation of the causes of rolling stock derailment. Completing Acts of official investigation (Forms RBU-1, RBU-3)
Research of means of energy supply in accordance with regulatory documents on traffic safety.
Study of the organization of train traffic in accordance with regulatory documents on traffic safety.
Providing the train with brakes and deciphering the high-speed tape.
Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods:
1. Protection of reports for practical works by conducting an oral survey on the subject of the work.
2. Conducting a written exam based on the results of studying the discipline, which consists of three-level theoretical and practical tasks.
3. Conducting the oral component based on the results of the written exam, the questions of which are based on the content of lectures and practical classes.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (PC) – 50 points.
Examination control: written component – 40 points; oral component - 10 points.
