Learning outcomes: RN 2. Critically evaluate the scientific values and achievements of society in the development of transport technologies in railway transport.
RN 8. Develop, design, manage projects in the field of transport systems and technologies in railway transport.
RN 10. Develop and use transport technologies taking into account requirements for environmental protection.
RN 19. Explain operational, technical-economic, technological, legal, social and environmental efficiency of transportation organization.
RN 23. To recognize the qualitative and quantitative indicators of the operation of vehicles. Evaluate the design elements of vehicles. Establish a connection between the elements of the construction of vehicles.

Summary of the subject: During the study of this educational discipline, the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge and skills regarding the development of schemes of district, cargo, port, ferry and border stations, based on current norms and standards. Here, the method of calculating the number of tracks in station parks, the loading and throughput capacity of the station entrances, as well as familiarization with sorting devices, devices of locomotive, passenger and wagon management are considered in detail.

Devices of passenger and wagon farms.
Sorting devices of district and freight stations.

Loading and throughput of the stations' ports
Specialized freight stations.
Port and ferry stations.
Border and transshipment stations.
Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods:
1. Protection of reports for practical works by conducting an oral survey on the subject of the work.
2. Conducting a written exam based on the results of studying the discipline, which consists of three-level theoretical and practical tasks.
3. Conducting the oral component based on the results of the written exam, the questions of which are based on the content of lectures and practical classes.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (PC) – 50 points.
Examination control: written component - 40 points; oral component - 10 points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49–26 points – (“not certified” with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is given for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
