Мета вивчення дисципліни: To form in students a scientific and professional approach and the appropriate level of knowledge of applied sputtering and surfacing technologies, existing technological equipment and electrode materials that are currently used in production and will be developed in the near future.
Завдання: general competences: - Ability to identify, pose and solve engineering-technical and scientific-applied problems (Gc 1); - Ability to learn and master modern knowledge (Gc 6); professional competences: - Ability to apply appropriate methods and resources of modern engineering to find optimal solutions to a wide range of engineering problems using modern approaches, forecasting methods, information technologies and taking into account existing limitations under conditions of incomplete information and conflicting requirements (PC 1); - Ability to describe, classify and model a wide range of technical objects and processes, which is based on deep knowledge and understanding of theories and practices of mechanical engineering, as well as knowledge of related sciences (PC 2); - The ability to develop technological processes for improving and modifying the physical and mechanical properties of the surface of elements; assessment of advantages and disadvantages of materials used in the technological processes of restoration and strengthening of parts of machines and structures for applying surface layers and coatings with various properties (PCS 2.2).
Learning outcomes: LO1 Apply specialized conceptual knowledge of the latest methods and techniques of design, analysis and research of structures, machines and/or processes in the field of mechanical engineering and related fields of knowledge. LO2 Develop and put into production new types of products, in particular, perform research and design work and/or develop technological support for the process of their production. LO3 Apply automation systems for research, design and construction work, technological preparation and engineering analysis in mechanical engineering. LO4 Use modern methods of optimizing the parameters of technical systems by means of system analysis, mathematical and computer modeling, in particular under conditions of incomplete and contradictory information. LO Independently set and solve problems of an innovative nature, argue and defend the obtained results and decisions; LO7 Clearly and unambiguously present the results of research and projects, convey one's own conclusions, arguments and explanations in national and foreign languages orally and in writing to colleagues, students and representatives of other professional groups of various levels Kn1. Summary of the subject: While studying this educational discipline, the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge of sputtering and surfacing technologies, which are currently used in production and will be developed in the near future. Acquires knowledge of technological equipment for sputtering and surfacing, technical and economic characteristics, areas of use of technological processes, materials and equipment for their implementation in industry.

Assessment methods and criteria: Students' knowledge is assessed using the following methods: 1. Defense of reports for laboratory work in oral form by surveying the theoretical material on the topic of the work and research methodology. 2. Current express control by means of a virtual learning environment or oral survey, tests, assessment of activity and submitted proposals. 3. Conducting a written exam based on the results of studying the discipline, which consists of tasks of various levels of difficulty. 4. Conducting the oral component based on the results of the written exam.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49–26 points – (“not certified” with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is given for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.

Мета вивчення дисципліни: Providing students with practical knowledge and skills in solving problems in the field of applied sputtering and surfacing technologies, existing technological equipment and electrode materials that are currently used in production and will be developed in the near future.
Завдання: integral competence: - The ability to solve complex tasks and problems in applied mechanics or in the learning process, which involves research and/or innovation and is characterised by uncertainty of conditions and requirements (INT); general competences: - Ability to use information and communication technologies (GC 2); - Ability to generate new ideas (creativity) (GC 3); - Ability to develop and manage projects (GC 4); professional competences: - Ability to work independently and function effectively as a team leader (PC 3); - Ability to clearly and unambiguously communicate own conclusions, knowledge and explanations to specialists and non-specialists, including in the process of teaching (PC 4); - Ability to develop and implement an appropriate technological process for the restoration and strengthening of a structure or its individual elements; to search for optimal solutions in the design of processes based on modern methods currently used in industry and will be used in the near future (PCC 2.1); - Ability to independently design technological processes for improving the physical and mechanical properties of the surface of steels and alloys and to predict the physical and mechanical properties of the resulting surface layers, their performance and service life (PCS 2.3); - Ability to independently develop and implement the appropriate technological process for repair and restoration work in various industries (PCS 2.4).

Summary of the subject: During the study of this discipline, the student acquires practical knowledge and skills in the development of spraying or surfacing technology for the repair or restoration of structures. The following tasks are implemented: analysis of the manufacturability of a given structure, surface or type of applied layer and weldability of the metal from which it is made; justification and selection of the coating method; characteristics of preparatory operations; selection of welding materials; calculation or setting of process modes, etc.
Опис: Independent creative work on designing the technology of manufacturing a welded structure, which is performed in extracurricular (free from compulsory classes) time on the assignment and under the guidance of the teacher, but without his/her direct participation. In the case of a real qualification work (commissioned by an enterprise, practice base, potential customer, employer, etc.), it is allowed to adjust the scope and content of the work in agreement with the student.
Assessment methods and criteria: The student's knowledge is diagnosed during the semester when performing coursework in extracurricular (free from compulsory classes) time on the assignment and under the guidance of the teacher, but without his/her direct participation and by defending before the commission according to the following methods: 1. The quality of the course work is assessed according to the criteria given in Appendix 2 of the Regulations on the rating assessment of student achievements: - compliance of the course work content with the task and the requirements of the educational and methodological recommendations for its implementation; - independence of solving the task, design solution, performing calculations, drawings, graphs and tables; - the presence of elements of a research nature; - preparation of explanatory notes and graphic materials in accordance with the requirements of design and technological documentation. 2. The quality of the student's report on the content of the course work is assessed; 3. The completeness and correctness of the answers to the questions posed to the student is assessed.
