Abstract: Shkoliar S. Architectural solutions of art clusters and squats in an urban environment - Manuscript. Master’s thesis for a master’s degree in Architecture of Buildings and Structures. - Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2021. The master’s thesis analyzes architectural, sociological, psychological and philosophical factors of art clusters and squats fotmation as forms of new artistic practices in the urban structure. The world and domestic experience of arrangement of art clusters and squats, preconditions of their origin and features of formation are covered. The analysis of art clusters multifunctionality is carried out and the socio-demographic structure of consumers is analyzed. The discourse of certain forms of urban art public spaces, in particular art clusters and squats, is conducted through the prism of Michel Foucault’s methodology of heterotopia. The psychology of art clusters spaces, architectural aspect of cluster formation on the territory of former industrial zones is investigated. Theoretical bases of industrial objects revitalization are worked out in detail and the structural model of squats and art clusters as volume-spatial formations is created. The main aspects of the formation of architectural and artistic solutions of revitalized industrial zones and features of their adaptation to the cultural function are outlined. Based on the study, recommendations for the revitalization of the industrial zone in order to create an art cluster are proposed.
