Abstract: Dzhavaha L. V., Lutsyshyn H. I. (advisor). Activities of international organizations to protect the rights of internally displaced persons in Ukraine.. – Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2020. Extended annotation In the conditions of hybrid war, annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, mass violations of human rights both on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in the temporarily occupied territories of Eastern Ukraine, there has been a problem of forced migration and proper protection of internally displaced persons’ rights. Despite the adopted Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons", the current legislation is imperfect and does not contain appropriate and effective legal, in particular, organizational and procedural mechanisms to ensure the rights of internally displaced persons, so the application of foreign experience and involving international organizations are an important steps to assist in ensuring the rights of internally displaced persons. Object of the research: activities of international organizations in Ukraine. Subject of the research: features of the activities of international organizations to protect the rights of internally displaced persons in Ukraine. The purpose of the study: research on the activities of international organizations in Ukraine to protect the rights of internally displaced persons as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The issue of Ukraine’s cooperation with international organizations on the protection of the rights of internally displaced persons covers a number of aspects, primarily related to the establishment of the relevant legal framework by bringing Ukrainian legislation in line with international norms concerning internally displaced persons. Important in this process is the application of the United Nations Guidelines on Internally Displaced Persons, as a unified document that summarizes the principles and guidelines in international law for the protection of the rights of internally displaced persons [6]. It is also extremely important to establish a constructive dialogue and direct cooperation with international governmental and non-governmental organizations, which are responsible for addressing internally displaced persons, including the United Nations (including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the United Nations Peacebuilding and Reconstruction Program). International Organization for Migration, Council of Europe (including the activities of projects developed under the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for different periods of time), the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund. Among the non-governmental organizations there are the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, International Foundations: Medecins sans frontiers, Save the Children, Renaissance, People in Need, Caritas, Human Rights Foundation and others. The planning and coordination of international organizations is based on the Strategic Humanitarian Response Plan and involves a cluster approach in the analysis and assessment of the current situation, which requires significant efforts from national institutions, as they must deal with emergencies and coordinate the actions of all humanitarian organizations that involved to help [1]. Also in the context of improving the efficiency of work with international donors, special attention needs to be paid to the development of effective mechanisms for providing humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons from international donors, in particular through the improvement of ukrainian legislation in this area. The effectiveness of international organizations’ efforts in Ukraine directly depends on the existing infrastructure of the region and in the country as a whole, the activities of public organizations in Ukraine, their efficiency and branching of the network, coherence of institutions in the country (existence of institutions that can coordinate donor efforts on internally displaced persons), financial support by the government for international programs, etc. [5]. Key words: Ukraine, international organizations, internally displaced persons, humanitarian aid, international donors. References: 1.
