Abstract: The restaurant reservation system helps to reduce one of the most serious problems of the industry - customer no-shows. That’s why more than 80% of restaurants are turning to technology like online ordering and reservation software to streamline their business processes. [1]. Having a restaurant reservation system will make visiting a restaurant more convenient, especially with the added functionality of online booking through a website or app. As previously mentioned, 36% of customers believe that online reservations are the most important technology feature a restaurant can offer guests. These features also allow customers to reserve tables in advance [2]. Booking a table in a restaurant is not only beneficial to the owners and kitchen staff, but also helps to make lunch more pleasant for customers. When visitors order a table for 18:00 on Friday, they can expect to be seated closer to this time, which will shorten their waiting time [3]. Therefore, the development of an information system for table reservations in public catering establishments is quite an urgent task. In the era of online communication, live interaction is more valuable than ever. A date in a restaurant, a meeting with friends in a pub, or a conversation with a friend over a cup of coffee in a cafe. All this helps to distract from work, watching the news, but it can become a slight disappointment in cases when there are no free seats at your favorite institution or you have to spend at least an hour looking for a suitable place for a meeting. For this purpose, a reservation service was invented a long time ago. In order to avoid unfortunate mistakes, like most processes in the restaurant business, the reservation service can and should be automated. This will reduce the burden on the institution’s administrator, increase the loyalty of regular customers and attract new ones. Therefore, the main task of this work is to create such a system that would enable users to choose an establishment close to their location, display free seats in the selected establishment for the specified number of guests and help make reservations. After an analysis of literary sources, it was proved that there is a need for the development of a reservation system, and it was found that such systems are widely popular. The developed application will help not only restaurant business customers save time, but also cafe and restaurant owners to increase attendance and minimize errors. In order to correctly formulate the requirements for the designed system, existing analog systems were considered. Based on this, the technical and software requirements that must be met for successful system design were determined. During the implementation of the first section, the basis for the design and implementation, as well as the future development of the catering reservation system, was described. The relevance of the work is substantiated, the subject and object of the research are described, and the practical application of the obtained results is determined. Also, analogue systems based on functionality and purpose are analyzed, and a comparison with the designed system is also provided. Based on the results of the analysis, the main functionality of the designed system was determined. The main task of this work was to create high-quality software with predictable time frames and budget according to the chosen subject area. The second section of this work contains a detailed description of system analysis, which is the key to successful system design. The next section contains information on the selection of tools for designing, implementing and implementing the system. To achieve this goal, the logical architecture of the program is described and the requirements for the technical characteristics of the software are specified, which would provide support for work with CSS and HTML page markup languages. In the process of developing this system, programming technologies were used, which ensure the correct functioning of the designed system. As a confirmation of the correctness of the work of the developed information system, an analysis of a control example is given, which demonstrated the readiness of the system to perform tasks. In the future, it is planned to expand the functionality of the system by adding new opportunities for the user. Among the options for implementing this functionality, the software capabilities of a number of platforms were analyzed. The developed project of the information system was successfully tested, which indicates the correctness of its work and the successful completion of the project. The object of the research is reservation systems in catering establishments. The subject of research is methods and tools for creating a reservation system. The purpose of the research is to investigate the existing reservation systems and to design an own reservation system in catering establishments. The results of the research consist in the analysis of existing online reservation systems, the formation of the functionality of one’s own system and the determination of methods and means of building the program, the information and consultation system "FoodSearch" was implemented, which offers to choose among the establishments closest to the user’s location.
