Abstract: The master’s thesis will investigate and compare the methods used for image recognition, as well as the selection of tools and software for effective image recognition. The developed object is a mobile application for recognizing augmented reality images. The aim of the work is to develop an augmented reality program for the Android mobile platform, which can be extended to implement a space navigation system. The paper offers an analysis of image recognition methods, a comparison of existing recognition technologies in augmented reality, and an overview of the Vuforia augmented reality platform. Also taken into account is the design and development process of the program, as well as the integration of Vuforia with the cross-platform game engine Unity using the developed system. The work also includes an economic section, which determines the feasibility of developing this product, calculates costs and revenues from the sale of the product and its cost price. The master’s thesis contains 72 pages, of annotations, 32 figures, 9 tables, 28 sources.
