Characteristics of the educational program: Educational and professional training program is based on the known positions and results of modern scientific research in engineering geodesy, cartography, land and realty rating, GIS, photogrammetry and remote sensing, satellite geodesy, and oriented to the future professional and scientific carrier. Program objective is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills, sufficient to successfully perform their professional duties specialty 193 " geodesy and land management" with specialization "Engineering geodesy" and prepare students for future employment in the chosen specialty. Provide the knowledge for the professional activities with the possible continuation of the study to get higher level of the qualification skill. Modern laboratories will be used for the proper formation of the educational process at the departments of the Institute of Geodesy. An obligatory research practice should be done in the frame of master’s degree qualification project, according to the specialization, and all students should complete both: practical and theoretical research. The total amount of educational and professional program - 90 ECTS credits, including general training cycle.: - 6 cr., cycle of professional training - 84 cr
Gained competence: - demonstration of the deep knowledge to proceed the experiments, data collection, modelling and analysis of the results of computations, systemic thinking and creative ideas in the area of geodesy and land management; - knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and techniques nessesary to understand the principles of functionality of modern geodetic instruments, satellite navigation systems and equipment; - demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the methodologies methods, corresponding normative documents, applicable standards and specifications, that is relating to professional activities in the field of geodesy; - demonstrate the knowledge of the current stage and modern technologies in the area of geodesy;
- integrate the knowledge and understanding to identify, formulate and solve professional problems of geodesy using known methods; - ability to formulate the purpose and tasks of engineering-geodetic research, to develop projects in the field of Construction and Architecture; - the ability to use in practice skills for organizing surveying and design works in the field of Engineering Geodesy; - ability of professional usage of the modern geodetic equipment and metrological support of the precision devices; - modeling and optimization of the applied task in geodesy and implementation of new solutions into production; - study and modeling of processes and phenomena in the field of geodesy, geodynamics, mathematical interpretation of relationships in models and processes, determination of the boundaries of applicable models and assumptions; - ability to monitor natural resources and areas with ecological and technological risks; - the ability and readiness to characterize the main functions and rights, to prepare and apply regulatory acts related to professional activities in the field of Geodesy;
- knowledge demonstration in professionally oriented disciplines of specialty; - formulate and improve some important research problems, collect all necessary information with the conclusions which should be proved in scientific context; - evaluate the results and reasonably explain own decisions; - to be focused and persistent, lifelong study, to realize social and moral responsibility for the study and professional activities; - effectively works in teams to locate, acquire and process the data to solve the research problems and take responsibility to organize the time schedule.

Work placement(s): An important aspect of training in the Earth Sciences is Research practice on the topic of master’s qualification work, which is held on survey companies, departmental offices of engineering
