Learning outcomes: 1. PRN 1. Possession of sufficient knowledge in industries related to the disciplines of bridge and tunnel complexes, which will allow to critically analyze the situation and identify key trends in the industry. 2. PRN 2. Knowledge and understanding of scientific principles underlying bridge construction and civil engineering, in particular, transport infrastructure, use of non-traditional and secondary materials. 3. PRN 3. Knowledge of the basics of professionally oriented disciplines of specialty 192 "Construction and Civil Engineering": engineering networks and structures, research in construction, intellectual property, economic evaluation of innovative technologies and design solutions in construction, economics and enterprise management. 4. PRN 4. Deepening knowledge in the specialization "Bridges and transport tunnels": design of bridge structures, design of transport tunnels, design of production facilities, modern materials, structures and technologies. 5. PRN 7. Knowledge of the basics of economics and project management in the field of design, construction and operation of MTT. 6. PRN 8. Acquisition of adequate knowledge and understanding related to the specialization "Bridges and transport tunnels", the scale of which will be sufficient to successfully organize and conduct research in the design, construction and operation of MTT, to form and represent the results of professional activities. 7. PRNPS 1. Apply the acquired knowledge and understanding to identify, formulate and solve problems of development of frame construction technologies, using known methods. 8. PRNPS 2. Apply knowledge to solve characteristic problems of synthesis and analysis in technologies of construction and reconstruction of bridge structures. 9. PRNPS 3. Systematically think and apply creative abilities to the formation of fundamentally new ideas in the design, construction and operation of MTT. 10. PRNPS 4. Ability to conduct theoretical and experimental research, analysis of results and their implementation in the field of MTT. 11. PRNPS 5. Calculate, design, study market trends, conduct marketing analysis, bring to market new products that are elements of the bridge and tunnel transport complexes. 12. PRNPS 6. To search for information in various sources to solve problems of design, construction and operation of MTT. 13. PRNPS 7. Combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop strategies to address the challenges of modern technologies for the construction of bridges and tunnels, taking into account universal values, social, state and industrial interests. 14. PRNPS 8. Carry out relevant research and apply research skills in the design, construction and operation of MTT. 15. PRNPS 9. Critically evaluate the results of activities and reasonably defend the decisions made. 16. PRNPS 10. To use in practice knowledge, to apply methodical tools of knowledge in the field of services on design, construction and operation of MTT, to analyze the received results of researches in the context of the existing theories, to draw the corresponding conclusions.

Basics of arch bridges design and calculation. Basics of frame bridges design and calculation. Basics of suspension bridges design and calculation. Basics of combined bridges design and calculation. Supporting elements and connections of steel bridges.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral examination, current control on practical training (30%); • final control (70% control work, exam)

Learning outcomes: • know the basic system and constructive solutions of steel bridges; • know the requirements of building codes for force and operational impact on steel bridges; • have skills in structural elements design of main types of steel beam bridge; • master the methods of calculation and design of steel and composite steel beam type bridges; • master the principles of design and calculation of arch, frame and suspension bridges; • know the basic methods of steel bridges modeling and research.
