Learning outcomes: • Collect and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data. • Use general and specialized software to solve professional problems and carry out research. • Analyze the social and individual context of the problems of the individual, family, social group, community, formulate the purpose and objectives of social work, plan interventions in complex and unpredictable circumstances in accordance with the values ??of social work. • Define the methodology of applied research and apply methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of results, including methods of mathematical statistics. • Develop criteria and indicators of professional effectiveness, apply them in the evaluation of work performed, offer recommendations for quality assurance of social services and management decisions. • Implement the results of scientific research in practice. • Organize joint activities of specialists in various fields and non-professionals, prepare them for social work, initiate team building and coordinate teamwork. • Independently build and maintain purposeful, professional relationships with a wide range of people, representatives of various communities and organizations, argue, persuade, conduct constructive negotiations, effective conversations, discussions, tolerance of alternative opinions.

Summary of the subject: As a result of studying the discipline the student: 1. forms an essential idea of social work as an interdisciplinary science; masters conceptually the methodology of scientific knowledge; 2. clarifies the content and functional purpose of general scientific and specific methods, principles of research of various phenomena and processes; 3. acquires experience of logical presentation and correct design of the results of social research and master's theses for public defense.
Assessment methods and criteria: 1. Attestation of students in the discipline "Methodology and methods of scientific research in social work" is carried out by means of objective control of the degree of achievement of ultimate goals. 2. Certification is based on the assessment of the level of competencies and learning outcomes of the master's degree in "Social Work", using methods of integrated diagnosis: semester assessment (CO) of students' knowledge is based on the total number of points obtained by current control (PC), individual scientific task (IS) and participation in research. 3. The information base on the basis of which the means of objective control of the degree of achievement of the ultimate goals of the discipline is formed is its subject matter, tasks for practical and independent work, a list of literature and guidelines. 4. Certification of the quality of mastering the discipline is carried out after the students complete the work program in full.
