Learning outcomes: • modern ideas about the fundamental concepts, history and prospects of the theory and practice of the Internet of Things; • understanding the requirements for Internet of Things systems; • knowledge of the principles of construction and basic structural elements of the Internet of Things; • the ability to develop the architecture of the Internet of Things, to decide on the choice of protocols, technologies and architectural components of the system; • ability to analyze and develop business models of service delivery and organization of services using the Internet of Things; ability to apply in practice the acquired knowledge to manage projects for the development and implementation of Internet of Things systems.

Summary of the subject: Definition of the Internet of Things. Using the Internet of Things. IoT standards. IoT ecosystem, IoT Architecture. Identifiers in IoT. Sensors. Endpoints, and Power Systems. Non-IP Based WPAN. IP-Based WPAN and WLAN. Long-Range Communication Systems and Protocols (WAN). IoT Edge to Cloud Protocols. Routers and Gateways. Cloud and Fog Topologies. Data Analytics. IoT Security.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Lab Execution and Report Presentation (30 points) • Final semester control of the theoretical course (60 points written and 10 points oral components)
