Extended annotation. In recent years, we have seen a steady and significant increase in prices for fuels and lubricants. Rising fuel prices are forcing managers of transportation companies to raise prices for services, which in turn causes a further chain reaction, ensuring rising prices for other goods and services and leads to negative processes in society. Almost every company that transports and delivers fuel within Ukraine, which has several dozen tank trucks, faces the problem of fuel fraud. Therefore, the problem of rising fuel prices makes urgent the task of controlling fuel losses arising from leaks, misuse, unauthorized selection, theft, etc. The purpose of the study of this master’s thesis is to solve the problem of control over fuel and its unauthorized costs. In the process of performing the master’s qualification work the technical problem is solved, which consists in the development of a system that carries out constant and accurate control of fuel consumption and reduces the errors in determining the amount of fuel to 0.5 ... 1%. A number of factors that critically affect the solution of the problem are identified: • taking into account the temperature and density of the fuel when calculating the level; • unauthorized use of fuel. The object of research is the process of measuring the fuel level, controlling fuel consumption and monitoring the movement of the tank truck. Research methods. Methods of measuring the level of fuel components in tanks and tank trucks: ultrasonic, vibrating. Reduction of temperature and mixed errors of devices. The practical value of the obtained results confirmed its effectiveness when using a measuring and computing fuel control system, which will allow: • reduce fuel consumption; • get information about the location of transport; • more accurately measure the level of fuel in the tank. The paper shows the possibility of organizing measuring and computing systems for fuel quantity control in tank trucks based on the use of ultrasonic fuel level sensors and vibration density meters. As a result of application of this approach three options are considered: 1. shows a possible solution to the problem of unauthorized use of fuel, ie theft of fuel from the car tank; 2. a possible solution to the problem of accurate measurement of fuel level in a tank truck, taking into account the temperature and density of fuel; 3. the problems of formation of optimal monitoring and control of vehicles, which makes it impossible to use special equipment for personal purposes of drivers, are considered. The design of the measuring and computing system for controlling the amount of fuel in tank trucks [1]. Within the framework of this design, the possibility of using different types of sensors is considered. Based on the consideration, a choice was made of one of the most reliable and accurate types - ultrasonic [2]. The possibility of using such a sensor both in the tank of the car and in the tank is shown. As a result of design the structural scheme of measuring and computing system of control of quantity of fuel in tank trucks is developed [3, 4]. Methods of error reduction are investigated, errors of such system are investigated. The study identified several types of errors that affect the measurement results. The reasons of their occurrence and ways of their calculation are described. The process of organizing and conducting computational experiments is described. The results of computational experiments are given and explained.
