Abstract: Polishchuk V. A., Lutsyshyn H. I. (advisor). Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU on gender issues. Master’s thesis. – Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2020. Extended annotation Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union on gender issues is due to the impact of this topic on the policy of our state, on the development of society and its representation in the international arena. Gender issues are extremely important, as they influence the formation of political courses and are the driving force for the formation of the rule of law, in which they respect and create conditions for a comfortable and dignified life of their citizens. Thanks to the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union on gender issues, Ukraine is moving towards a European future. Object of the research: cooperation between Ukraine and EU countries on gender issues. Subject of the research: features of development, problems, forms of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU on gender issues, analysis of European programs on gender issues. The purpose of the study: analysis of cooperation, development and implementation of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union on gender issues. Gender policy is a purposeful action of the state to achieve gender equality in the development process by correcting existing gender imbalances. Gender policy is pursued through the adoption of national laws and the ratification of conventions that focus on achieving gender equality [4]. Ukraine’s gender policy is at an active stage of development and improvement, but, unfortunately, it is not given the necessary attention. Stereotypical thinking about the role of women and men in professional life, society and, in particular, politics, still prevails in Ukraine. For a faster process of European integration, Ukraine needs to find a balance of articles in the fields of politics, economics and business, because the representation of women is insufficient [2]. Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU on gender issues can be observed in a number of joint current projects and agreements, including Gender Policy Priorities adopted by the European Commission, Strategy for Gender Equality in the European Union, Sustainable Development Goals, Council of Europe Convention on Protection of Children from Violence, The Council of Europe’s Gender Equality Strategy for 2018-2023, the European Charter for Equality between Women and Men in Local Lives, etc. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also approved the Ukraine-European Union Action Plan in 2005 [3]. Among the identified topical gender issues of Ukraine and the EU countries are ensuring equal pay for men and women, elimination of gender stereotypes, provision of adequate medical care, education and prospects for professional growth. The European Union recommends that Ukraine conduct gender education and public awareness of the terms mentioned in the master’s thesis, as well as prohibit discrimination in all forms of official documents, give non-governmental institutions and organizations the right to combat violence against women at the local level and to make court proceedings accessible and effective for the population of the state [1]. Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the field of gender issues has a positive impact on the development of Ukraine as a European state, but to achieve non-discriminatory life in our country it is necessary to change and expand people’s worldview, because equality and tolerance between women, men and people with different self-identification for a democratic society. Key words: Ukraine, EU, gender policy, discrimination, women, equality, feminism. References. 1. Марценюк Т.
